Have you been able to flip anybody and if so, how?

Two good friends are now vaping exclusively instead of smoking.

I went on vacations earlier this year with both of them separately. Took along several Ego Twists, a Provari, extra clearomizers, extra tanks and cartomizers, and quite a selection of tasty e-juices.

One vacation was a cruise that no longer allows smoking in the cabin OR on the balcony, so it was very, very easy to get that friend to vape. She loved the Alice In Vapeland juices. The day she got home, she ordered her own Twists and all the supplies she had had a chance to try that week. She's a very happy vaper.

The other vacation (non-smoking resort) was equally successful. That friend also thoroughly enjoyed using the Provari, the Twists, and was impressed with the flavor of the e-juices. Another enthusiastic vaper who "supplied-up" when he got home.

I think the biggest factor that made it easy for both friends to switch was they were able to try out devices and e-liquids that gave them a MUCH better vaping experience than they had had the few times they tried convenience store cig-alikes in the past. They were both absolutely amazed at how good a top-quality e-juice tastes, and at how long the batteries (1000 mAh Twist and an 18650 in the Provari) lasted between charges.

It helped, too, that they had someone (me! lol ) to help them learn how to fill a tank, show them how to fill a new cartomizer (condom method), how to fill a Clearomizer, etc. First thing I did when I got home was email them URLs to the items. Recalling how confusing all the stuff can be when you start shopping, I included a list of the exact names/sizes of all the accessories they'd need, and which online shop(s) carried them.

In anticipation that a week of vaping would flip both of them, I had brought along a tiny gift for them to take home ... a "Slap Yo Mama" tank tool. I figured that was something most new vapers wouldn't know about or think to purchase on their own even if they read about it. It's so handy, I consider it practically a must have. And yeah, they did get to practice filling tanks with it during those enforced vaping vacations. Hands on training! heheh.

WOOHOO!!!

I gifted eGo 650 kits to two coworkers and lent some of my kit to a third. One of them doesn't like it :( One of them is smoking half of what he was before and just ordered some more juice and one of them has all but completely stopped smoking. The guy that has almost stopped hasn't bought cigs in 3 weeks and only smoked one last week because his battery died, and he said it was disgusting, lol. The guy that has all but completely stopped smoking also ordered himself the 2x1300mah Spinner kit from myvaporstore.com tonight :D

Feels great sharing this escape from tobacco with others, especially those that, like me, wanted to quit but just like smoking too much and had given up on quitting.

I've yet to get anyone to try vaping...

I didn't know this at first, but a short time after I started vaping, my mother told me she tried a disposable once and didn't like it. I offered to let her try my GS cig-a-like, but she doesn't seem very interested in trying vaping again. Shame really, because she had quit smoking for so many years, then fell off the wagon. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and get her to try again.

At the risk of sounding anti-social, I must admit that I don't share the evangelistic fervor that some of the posts in this thread seem to embrace. As a smoker I was bombarded on a daily basis with admonitions and entreaties to get me to quit. In spite of the fact that intellectually I knew it was "for my own good", I resented it.
I started vaping not because someone said that I "ought to", but because I saw a coworker with an e-cigarette and I wanted to try it.
I'm content to let my vaping speak for itself. I welcome questions from those who are curious and I'm happy to extol the advantages of vaping over smoking if asked. One thing a smoker doesn't need is another "born again" ex-smoker telling them how nasty and unhealthy their habit is.

Knock Knock Knock

Would you like to learn about the good news of e-cigarettes?

223, to be exact, as of this morning. LOL! 2 more to go until I'm done. Thanks. It's like smoking or anything else, you have to come to it in your own time, ya know? At first, I was embarrassed to say I lost that much weight, putting a number to it is quite humbling, but... I dunno, I'm proud of it now. Fighting your way away from obesity is similar to fighting your way off of cigarettes. It's about addiction and it's the same set of steps to come to realize you need to change.

    (sorry for the mini-hijack)

Candy - you shouldn't be embarrassed! You should have a party & celebrate your success:party: That is an amazing accomplishment:thumb:
