Eh I honestly don't think there's any way vaping can be worse than smoking analogs. But somehow I've ended up on this health trip, and I'm starting to worry about ecigs. I keep looking on the internet, but there's really no substantial information. "Could cause" "It's speculated that" "In my opinion" that's the kind of stuff I'm finding, but seems like most of the people saying these things aren't even vaping, so I'd rather hear speculation from actual ecig smokers. I have been vaping off and on a while now. I used to do it just when I was out and about or at someone's house who didn't smoke indoors, but for 8 days I have been analog free and just vaping. I've noticed my heartbeat a lot more (palpitation). I don't know if it's all in my head, or maybe has to do with the heat or even unrelated heart problems, but it's gotten worse just in the past few days. When I feel my pulse it seems okay, but it's just like it feels like it's fluttering or something like it feels like my heart is moving around.. eh it's hard to explain. I also feel dizzy after breaks at work, where for about 15 minutes I'm pretty much vaping non-stop, could just be I'm taking in too much, maybe I should step down my nicotine (I use 24 or 26mg). I also feel kind of weird for a while after my breaks like I'm out of it. This doesn't happen at home I think because I vape slowly all day. I also wonder about the vapor. It goes in our lungs, and apparently at least most of it comes out when we exhale, but do you think any of that water or PG or VG or any of that stuff in the liquid is staying in our lungs? Could it cause bronchitis or pneumonia?

Tons of information in the medical and health and research section. After reading that, if you feel it's unhealthy for you or unsafe, try to quit smoking. It shouldn't be as hard now that you've been vaping. Doubtful you're getting as much nicotine as when you smoked cigarettes. None of us are doctors so if you're having health issues, I see a doctor. I'm not trying to be unsympathetic, but it's dangerous to get health related advice on a message board.

I read everything there was to read before I started vaping, and feel that vaping is healthy and safe for me. But you have to make that determination for yourself.

Good luck!

I started vaping March 2010, and at 6mg nic. I still get the same systoms you have described in your post, exactly the same. I do not know if its the nic., certain flavors, to much vaping, I have tried and cannot point it to one particular thing; however I do notice it gets sems worse with 100% pg. I got some vanilla tobacco flavor from a vendor and I ended up in the ER, I guess it must have been the flavoring. So from here on I will pay close attention and see if I can pen point what is causing the systoms.

I had some side effects also, mostly dry mouth and throat (including lots of phlegm which I can't tell wether it was a cold or what was there before) But some people say that PG can be a big time culprit. So I am diluting the highest Nicotine concentration to keep some while diluting the eliquid. So far it seems to be working together with vaping a little less and drinking lots of water.

Walmart sells Glycerine USP which will dilute your eliquid, hence also your PG. I bought it and also McCormick Raspberry extract to keep some flavor (flavor is diluted too), which has a little PG in it. So far only experimenting.

If you want to know how it's working for me you can contact me.

Ah, that's really cool to know! I talked to Brandon from Ms T's bakery today (namedrop ftw) because I wanted to know if I could get my e-juice without PG. He said from the symptoms I have it sounds more like I'm overdosing, and I think that's exactly it. I always thought of myself as a heavy smoker because most people I know don't smoke very much, but in all actuality I wasn't. I smoked at the most a full pack in one day (a WoW day at that). But I've been using 26mg. I think to save money I'll go ahead and get that glycerine to lighten up my juice that I already have so not to waste it. And besides Ms. T's juices which are a mix of PG and VG, I'm also gonna stick to VG just in case.

Don't pick your nicotine strength based on what you used to smoke, pick it based on what you'd like to vape--which can become a very different experience. Personally, I rarely vape much above 1.2-1.8% (and mostly vape just 1% aka 10mg/ml) because I like just enough nicotine to give a satisfying "throat hit" but not so much that I'll have to put it down after only a few puffs. I do like having some higher-strength liquids if I want a stronger throat hit or want/need to vape less frequently. You should find that you'll vape just as much nicotine as you need and that you'll stop vaping when you've had enough. :vapor:

Most vapers use less than a teaspoon (5ml) of e-liquid a day, and although vaping tends to draw out liquid and some people could be allergic or sensitive to some ingredients, PG vapor is used as an air sanitizer in schools and hospitals and by the gallon in fog machines without any known serious side effects.

The human body is a complicated thing so it's impossible to say that vaping couldn't possibly hurt you, but I fail to see how a teaspoon of much of anything that goes into a battery powered vaporizer could cause serious harm. ...No wait. I could imagine a few ways that an e-cig and a beer-fueled game of "truth or DARE" could be a bad combination.:danger:

Indeed it does sound like you might be taking in too much. Slow down, take a few draws at a time, stretch out the vaping more. Instead of hotboxing like you used to with cigarettes on a break, try spacing it out through the day. If you are in a situation where you can't vape at work at your leisure (I'm in healthcare I know how that is), try vaping on a restroom break for a few drags, or sneak a few but hold it in so as to have no vapor on exhale. Surreptitious like :) You can't vape like you used to smoke, you will OD like that which is what it sounds like, but no worries we have ALL been there :D LoL

When i started vaping I got dizzy from the 24mg stuff prolly coz i had gone cold turkey for 2 days! I'm staying on the 11mg or less now but i do use a fair amount of juice prolly around 5mls a day. I did have the dry mouth sore throat thing at start but i think that was from over vaping...its just too yummy! Hope your dizziness subsides!

You know, based on your original post and the info you wrote, I don't want to be an alarmist, but I would see a Doctor .. just sayin' ..

it's gotten worse just in the past few days. When I feel my pulse it seems okay, but it's just like it feels like it's fluttering or something like it feels like my heart is moving around.. eh it's hard to explain.

I also feel dizzy after breaks at work

No, I haven't worried about adverse health consequences from vaping.

I tend to be on a bit of a health kick too. Even when I smoked more, I still went to the gym regularly; I eat caveman diet religiously and exclusively organic foods and range-fed meats and eggs.

But even at all of that, I truly don't worry about vaping. It just doesn't bother me, especially when compared to analogs.

hahaha! You sound like me! First thing I did leaving the gym was light up a cig. I was in a 5-k run once and hid in the woods and had a cig. How sick is that.

It used be a sick joke for my family when I would always light up immediately after any kind of healthy physical activity... Nature hikes, workout at the gym, jogging etc. I didn't like the ridicule at all. Just more examples of how addicted I WAS! Emphasis on WAS.
