Mama Chak and I just finished making "Nam ..... Pao" (Thai Chilli Jam) and we both need showers now as we are covered with the smell of garlic, red onion, dried shrimp and chilli peppers all fried up then mixed in a blender with palm sugar, lemon juice, tamarind and water. She makes it by the half a gallon and it sells like hotcakes!

I don't spread it on bread like she does, but it's great in her spicy lemon grass soup! :headbang:

EDIT: looks like the Thai word for chilli was censored out. Let's see: you can p.r.i.c.k your finger, but you can't finger your ......
Ok, that works. P.r.i.c.k is the Thai word for chilli.

That is some crazy hot, but crazy good stuff!! She has it on bread?! Iron lady..

Congrats RJ....hope you and Calve can enjoy a few days together before he has to hit the road again. Well I stayed up until after midnight getting my clothes sorted, but so excited it's done and there are several bags of donations in my car to be delivered after work tomorrow. Hubby should be home in an hour or so, very excited to see him. They never did get an elk:( Everyone have a wonderful day

Well, her's isn't really all that hot, but there's heck of a lot of garlic, onions, dried shrimp and chilli in there. It is good though. It's funny, when we first moved here I couldn't eat anything as spicy as she could, but now it's totally the opposite. I can handle the spicy while she tones everything down for herself.

About the bread, I was gonna take pics of it, but I flubbed up on the oven settings and had scorched the tops while the bottoms of the loaves were still near raw. I managed to salvage them by turning them upside down outside the tins and baking them for another 5 minutes. Pics next time for sure. The bread was still great after cutting off the burnt crust.

    Congrats RJ!!

IG- enjoy your clean closet and day with Hubby.

I cleaned out/organized my closet yesterday as well. The master closet led to cleaning out master bath cabinets, then Kade wanted his closet done as well. I have a lot of stuff to donate.

It's going to be 70 degrees here today, 77 tomorrow; then dropping to 37 for the high on Thursday..:( Ugh.

RJ!!!!!!!! That is so cool! You go gal! P.r.i.c.k Pao goes good on/in omelettes want me to send you some? Spicy western omelettes, yummy.

IG, time to stock up on some new clothes to replace all the ones that went to charity. :D Happy shopping. To bad DH and his gang didn't get any elk. Better luck next time. Bet they still had fun though. Enjoy your reunion.

Bridget, enjoy your organized house. Take a vape break and relax now. :D

Edit to add: Dusty that was the second time I used your recipe - the first time I did the whole wheat version that one came out good too. Mama Chak really likes it too. :toast:

Next I'll have to try adding some Sourdough starter to it.

Congrats RJ... Sounds like a wonderful weekend for you and Calve. Happy for you!

Hoping to have a nice Sunday. I have some yard and housework to do but it's nice to have a day off to do it.

My job is driving me crazy. The latest being all day shift nurses must sign up for one mandatory overtime shift on NIGhTS/month. It was bad enough when they made me do it for day shift, now night shift? I did 7 yrs on nights and I know how badly that one shift is going to mess with my entire week. Not a happy employee at all.

Just refilled my KF with DF, must have grabbed the wrong syringe bc it's now laced with peppermint blast and it's just not what I was looking for :)

Happy Birthday Sam. I believe you said today was the official birthday day!

    Night Army!

Two tanks cleaned, re-wicked and filled with delicious NET.com juice. Been meaning to do a couple reviews of the them and actually did finish the first three. But when I went to copy them from the notes I took to Clay's web site, they were no longer there! The only thing left was the heading. Now I have to rewrite them and can't remember what I said the first time. Two of the three are gone now as they were small samples. There's also the one that spilled out when the Provari fell off the table - the juice is gone but luckily the KFL is still good. It's amazing how the tank separated at the threads without breaking.

OK, Time for an Old Man Rant.....

Those of us who are Big Thread veterans (yes, I have the audacity to include myself) have been around for several reincarnations of this popular thread. Thank You, General, for keeping the home fires warm. And, as we invite new members into our little corner of the ECF, we often advise them to check out the 'Reviews' section located as stickies in our little world.
JUST ONE SMALL PROBLEM, PEOPLE !!!! After this latest reincarnation of The Big Thread, Chakris was kind enough to set up the 'Reviews' Section once again. and then......
There are a Grand Total of two- Count them T-W-O - reviews in the Sweets/ Desserts Section by LAWaters. Two reviews in the Drinks Section. And a Grand Total of Five... yes, FIVE ... reviews in the Tobacco Section, AND DUSTY DELETED ONE OF THOSE !!!!
I just spent the last half hour reviewing Shadow (not previously reviewed), Oompa (not previously reviewed), and Legend (reviewed once). There are NO reviews for Huntsman. There are NO reviews for Gaia. No reviews for Maple, Eh?, Serendipity, Sludge, Blade, Atomic Grasshopper, White Lie, Vanilla Dream, MD, etc., etc., etc.,

Soooo..., WHY are we sending newer people to the 'Reviews' section ?
Maybe a few of us old farts (yes, I have the audacity to include myself) could actually try writing a few reviews this weekend.....

Old Man Rant over, we now return to Our Regularly Scheduled..... whatever.
