I can get close to cooking a filet mignon like they do at RC's.

Sear one side on top of the stove in a skillet that can go in an oven. Right after you flip it over, put the whole pan in the oven. Very high heated oven.

I've heard that's how RC's does it. You could get a job, Robin. :)

That's the best way to cook any frozen steak, sear it on both sides then toss in the oven on high heat until it's done to preference. Keeps the flavors in. Keeps it tender and juicy.

The only place I've enjoyed steaks etc are when my dad visits and we go to Fogo De Chao. It's one of those Brazilian steakhouses where they bring out skewers of fancy cuts, green for go, red for stop... Although I admit the salad bar is my favorite. I'm sure someone else has been there, right?

Sirius, just vegetarian, not vegan. It was a long time ago, a good 12 yrs since I gave up that lifestyle.

I've not heard of that one but we have one here, Tucanos. I end up eating way to much and spend the next day wishing I hadn't lol

Never heard of that place either. I have heard of those Brazilian places. I think I may have been to one once.

Fogo De Chao? Doesn't sound like a Texan to me. :)

Vegetarians generally are making a diet choice. With Vegans, its like a religious choice...
