Being genuinely funny is a very rare and precious gift. We lost two of them recently with Robin Williams and Joan Rivers. But there are those who are just as funny and they're not stars. Frank and Bobby come to mind. And the thing is, most of them have no idea how precious their gift is.

You're right...funny is very much subjective. But then there are those who no one thinks is funny. So it's not completely subjective.

Two comedians who couldn't make me laugh...
1) Adam Sandler - very rarely do I find anything he does as being funny
2) Will Ferrell - he has never made me laugh. not even once. His comedic attraction totally and completely escapes me.
Now see, I like these 2. Well definitely Will. Adams hit or miss with me.

I would rather get hit by a truck, have my kneecaps smashed in with a bat and have every one of my ribs kicked in and broken and left in a field to die slowly all at the same time than to watch anything with Will Ferrell in it....
