Oh good MS...That's what parents really need to do now if it can be afforded. It burns me up that public schools bend to the will of atheist groups,(and in most cases from outside the community) that are offended by The 10 Commandments or anything to do with Christ. When I was young and going to school, if someone visited a school with a problem with us saying The Pledge Of Allegiance because of the line,:One Nation Under God..." those people would have been smacked upside the head and ran out of town..lol

And when I was young and going to school the teachers were allowed to smack me upside the head. And they did! Trust me! :)

There was a big Facebook discussion going on recently about a video of a cop cussing some teenager and threatening to beat his ...., and everyone acted like the cop was just so out of line. I said I had High School teachers and coaches treat me a whole lot worse than that and I never thought anything about it, but that was a different day and age I guess. We didn't have cell phones and Facebook back then to "out" them.

I can't honestly think of a single time I got smacked by a teacher where I didn't deserve it. :)

Ditto for this Panthera Leo. I may be one of the youngest Virginians to have been subjected to physical punishment in public schools. It was removed during my time in the Henrico County Public school system, but not before I tasted it.

My boy did good didn't he?

The problem is though..... my wife is like, HEY you didn't do THAT and HEY why didn't you do THAT and HEY......

:D
I was in the room the whole time our baby was born, but didn't take any pictures. Mama Chak was a champ - her doctor recommended induced labour because Mama's BP was getting to high and difficult to control. Tiffanie was born two weeks early. When my brother came to visit us in the hospital, we went watched her through the window of the premee ward. I was doing great up till that moment, even cutting the cord didn't phase me. But after seeing her there and walking away from the window everything hit me like a ton of bricks. I a was queazy, shaking bundle of nerves. When I told Mama about it she just laughed.

I remember getting the paddle back in grade school once, but by the principal not the teacher. I can't remember what the offence was, but I did deserve it. ;)

You were probably buying things with your allowance you could not afford. The more things change the more they stay the same. :)

I think that was a beautiful video. Yep, I cried. I was there for the birth of my second grandchild. I even got to cut the cord. Being on the other side of the birthing experience was much nicer LOL It was a beautiful experience that I was very fortunate to be a part of.

The father of my kids didn't go in with me while I gave birth but to be fair (somewhat) both of mine were VERY quick. Like within two hours of arriving at the hospital.

Second grandchild? Robin .. I didn't think you would even be old enough for a first grandchild. Wow you must age like my mom did..She looked in her early thirties until she was in her late fifties. I can't stand people that age like that. I've always looked old.

My baby picture..........

LOL, actually, I think it had to do with something that happened in the playground at recess, a scuffle with another kid or something like that. I distinctly remember the paddle was a ping-pong paddle with holes drilled through it to make it whistle through the air before it struck home. The sound scared ya more than the actual hit.
