Adam so sorry to hear Heather's mom is not doing well and will lift your family up in prayer.

Papaw had to chuckle at your story. Hubby usually goes with jewelry. He has great taste and it's pretty safe. I hate to jinx myself but feeling pretty good today. Now I need to get all of those things done around home and the office that I just haven't felt up to getting done. I'll take it slow and still get plenty of rest.

Well, I guess I could make my own marinara because we do have tomatoes, just don't have a good recipe for it. :2cool:

Oh, hon . . . "marinara" = "of the sea", so . . .

In a skillet or saucepan: crushed garlic in olive oil (with oil from tinned anchovies added); mince a tin of anchovies and add; add crushed tomatoes and salt to taste; add red pepper flakes if desired.

Truly a "no recipe really needed" treat! :)

A great LONG weekend. I get off on Presidents Day. ;)

And then comes Mardis Gras!!!!!

And next comes LENT! (Ash Wednesday) :nun:

It's the rhythm of life: feasting, then fasting, rinse and repeat!

I would be in big trouble if I didn't celebrate it... ;)

Although it's going to be a tough weekend as Heather's mom is not doing well... Hospice has been helping out the last few weeks... It's a sad time...

Happy Valentine's Day, Adam & Heather!

Prayers & hugs going out to you all.

Thanks so much, EL - you're a sweetheart!! Mhua. Even though Retic beat you to it. His post a couple pages back had the recipe for Marinara AND about 3 other similar sauces.

Good Morning Army.

Bronze has me beat in the motor mouth category :glare: I don't see you all picking on him!

Congratulations BK on the 10k posts. Yes, if a thread is deleted, the posts that were in there get wiped out. A closed thread? The posts remain and so does the post count. Lounge and OUTSIDE posts do not get counted. If they did, omg I would be past Bronze in post counts.

I hope everyone has a great day :)

hmmm if they deleted all of the "big threads" previous and this one we would all be at 27 posts

Anchovies? I read that you and Retic said this. I don't like little canned fish. I can't stand to be around that smell either. (Sardines just smell horrible to me) Funny because I love to fish, and fry 'em up. Some fish I like baked, or grilled. But anchovies? I shudder at the thought. :?:

Yeah, but he forgot the most important ingredient -- the ANCHOVIES!!! :p

Most women are far more refined than us egotistical slobs. I have no idea why they want anything to do with us quite honestly. Maybe they feel guilty for raising us and look at us as charity cases. :)

we are the challenge of raising "little boys the correct way"...
