I'm at Frank's Truck Stop over in Chesapeake. Haven't spent the night here in about 15 years. On a related note, little known fact. It takes approximately 15 years for a driver to forget that the RR tracks run about 50 yards from the parking lot at a given truck stop.

Not great for trying to get some sleep. :(

Good wakeup call though.

I grew up in a house just a little more than 50 yards from RR tracks! You learn to sleep through it when it’s every night. For a single stopover - not so much.

Years later a friend invited me to an alumni weekend at Virginia Tech. Big frat house - remote, beautiful river running by. We camped in tents in the yard. Would have been peaceful but for the RR tracks! Darn trains ran every 20 mins. Not much sleep that night!

Well, either nothing cam through last night or I slept like a champ. Either way, 7:30 wakeup call from the train horn was reasonable. It's gonna be a great day.

Here's how close the tracks are btw. You can see why I didn't park on the other row, although I doubt it makes that much difference.

We have bad weather up to bat again, for the today-Thursday. I can't say I'm looking forward to that. I got enough groceries to tide me over till the weather passes. I put some gas in the vehicle too. Looked at this story on DailyM talking about this storm. They kept flashing pics and videos of Hurricane Harvey. I think they are trying to freak people out. Knowing they've been spraying well over half the month hasn't helped my feelings about it either. The only good thing about this is it is bringing some cooler air. The past 3 days it has been well in the 80's.
It is going to be a lazy day for me I think. I do need to groom the dogs. That is all I have on my agenda today. Bella is shedding her winter coat. You could make a rug out of the hair she has shed already.

SMH. Someone has it in for TX. And there’s retired Justice Stevens at 98 yrs old saying it’s time to repeal the 2nd Amendment. Hmmm... where’s there a lot of likely resistance? Texas! Makes you wonder. And Nevada is high on the list for gun ownership too.

Your comment about Bella’s coat making a rug made me laugh! Reminds me of when SpongeBob knitted a sweater out of his eyelashes.

Maybe a slight difference in the degree of teeth rattling. :)

Got my Ammit RTA. I like it! Easy mount and it’s not finicky about how much wick you use. Considerably shorter than the K5 also!

Ooohhh! Very nice! Looks like good sized capacity too. Nice open build deck. Sweet! How’s the flavor when you vape it?

Your stories of these runs back and forth are something else! Companies spend a lot in shipping! Some of it seems so inefficient. But yay for the pay! :toast:
