Spinal surgery last week has collapsed my world in to a single note , pain , and more pain . Previous surgery was much easier . I hope the jerks in the media that caused the anti opioid crap storm get dragged to the lowest pit of hell and suffer every ounce of pain their bullcrap has caused .

No choice right now but being in a backwater doesn't help . I'll head back to NOLA for the next procedure . Docs here have made some rude remarks about healthcare in NOLA but the fact is is that they're bumpkins in comparison .

Right? Last time I was in for surgery my doctor prescribed one of those on demand intravenous opioid dispensers. I don’t think my pain was that bad, but it did help in getting to sleep. When he asked me if I was using it, I told him that and he kind of blew up at me and asked me if I wanted to get addicted? I was like, “Dude, you prescribed it!” People are weird. Still not addicted to opioids. For people with severe pain there isn’t an alternative.

    Hang tough.

Lumbar laminectomy was just done , kinda like tenderloining a hog . same muscles are scraped off the spine before removing the bone . Next is gonna be removal of two discs and spinal fusion . then re-stabilize the cervical surgery site . things have been out of line , got a big lump on my left shoulder from muscles not being where they should be . turning in to F'ng Quasimodo . They are militantly anti-nicotine here to the point of being ignorant . I know far more than most of them , they just spout party line and not treat people properly . None of that crap in NOLA . maybe spend some time with Scot while there , he is hanging in there . love to grab a few beers with him .

What a clusterf**k! You still have a long haul in front of you. Well, not much you can do about it except changing docs.

The worst part is that a Dr. in NOLA developed a new procedure to treat people like me with far less pain and recovery time . A tiny titanium jack is inserted through a micro incision and basically jacks the bones back in to place and relieves the pressure on the spinal cord . The results are immediate . I have two four inch gashes at the base of my spine that have to heal plus the screws and brackets and the muscles that were cut off the spine . I didn't know about the new procedure beforehand , I should kick my own azz for being ignorant of it but my situation was considered urgent .

That jack sounds very interesting. Never heard that before. What is that an alternative for? Synthetic discs? Fusions?
Afternoon.... Cooler out today. Glad I mowed the yard yesterday. It rain last night...
This grass grows crazy quick this time of year. Gotta cut it every five days. Then summer kicks in and it goes dormant for three months.

Alternative to laminectomy , looks like it could prevent additional problems as well .

Interesting. I'll need to look that up.
Afternoon... Made it to 85 today. The wind kept mowing the yard from being to bad. Had to get it done due to rain in the forecast for tomorrow..
Summer comin' up. Still liking the house upgrades?

Seems the older we get , the faster years go by..............
