I gave up on the grass years ago. Let the weeds take over. Still looks the same from the satellite photo.

Evening Army

Half way through Lord of the Rings rerun. The battle of Helm's Deep is over and Frodo & Sam are making their way into Mordor.
Coming up to the point where Gollum sets up Sam and gets Frodo to disown him. Gollum is a scumbag.

Afternoon... Went to the store early. Then took the dog to the vet. She has hot spots or I guess you could call it a skin rash. Anyway they shaved some hair and cleaned the areas and gave me some meds to help with it. I can tell she's feeling better cause she's sleeping.

And I nearly stepped on a snake. Opened the back door to go on the deck, about ready to take a step and Mr. Snake was right under my foot...barefoot. I don't think so. He is harmless. A 32 - 36" Black snake is all but still would rather not put my foot on him. :)

Hot and humid as hell here. Not getting any better in the days to come either. It's summer.

Well since they don't have feet you could consider them barefoot. :D

We've had a lot less snake incidents since they built the house next to us - before that it was a huge open field all the way to the main road. Now the worst pest we have are the squirrels pillaging the fruit trees.

if you really miss cutting grass.... I have lots of it ;)
No no i don't miss it. In fact I just sat down after mowing and edging the front and back... I miss the front yard having grass. Half of it's dead. No time to fix it.

Good Morning Army. Whatever I am going to do today needs to be done in the next few hours. The Weather Fool is calling for 95*F today.
Mamaw brought Scrapple home from the Grocery Store. I musta done something right because she doesn't even like to cook it, but I suspect there will be some on the old breakfast plate soon

Have a Safe and Blessed Sunday :nun:

whats a scrapple?

just looked it up... dont believe Ive ever had any.........

Not missin much
Good morning Army!

Think cheap hamburger, only pork. The old fashioned way of making scrapple is : After the hog has been slaughtered and processed (ham, bacon, chops, chitins, feet, etc.) you take a snow shovel, scrape up all of the scraps, grind it up, pour into loaf bread pans and set up in a walk in cooler where the temp is below 50*F for at least three or four days to kill off the germs and bacteria. This will cause the ground pork scraps to gel into a small loaf.
Then you slice thin and fry in lard or butter, I think some southerners call it "Sousa", but not sure on the term. Pennsylvania Amish may have coined the term "Scrapple".
Can be served as a breakfast meat, or on toast w/ a touch of maple syrup. Just make sure it is cooked well.

Good Stuff ! However, none today. Mamaw is cooking a Sausage Link/ Bell Pepper/ Onion Scrambler for breakfast. Wouldn't surprise me if some sort of potato is introduced.
