I'm still down somewhat. I took two naps yesterday, just couldn't stay awake for some reason.. but I'm a little more awake today I think - so far anyway. Lol..

But, it's just a hump ill soon get over... the antibiotics just need time I imagine.

I have a bike but haven't ridden much in the past few years. I'm in a more urban area now and it's not appealing to ride with trafffic. I got out a lot on vacation but it was a beach cruiser so just recreational riding to the ice cream shop or a different beach area.

My bike is still in Los Angeles. It's far too hot here for riding right now. And riding a beach cruiser counts! Peddling is peddling. Still good activity. Do you still do hooping?

I have a 4500 acre park (Shelby Farms, one of the biggest urban parks in the country, 5 times bigger than Central Park in NYC) with bike trails galore that's a 5 minute bike ride away from me. :)

That's awesome! You are so lucky! Back East there was just one good bike park and the trail circuit was 1.3 miles. It got tedious but was so pretty there I enjoyed it.

Today is my dog's 3rd birthday. I am spoiling her. She got special food and a toy. I even bought her some special chews to munch on as well. She was due for her heartworm pill though, and I couldn't avoid that. She hates them. I have to crush them to a powder, and mix into good food, or she won't touch it. She is good about eating the cheese, cream cheese, pill pocket...whatever and leaving the pill. So once a month she gets special food to take her freaking pill. She doesn't know it is her birthday of course. But she is liking the extras I'm giving her a lot!

Everyone have a wonderful day. Love life.

We had this saying while i was on vacation "say YES to life", wake up at 4am to watch the sunrise? Yes! Go crabbing with flashlights at 10pm? YES! Learn to play cribbage? Yes! I'm still operating on that plane. It adds a lot of fun to the day.

For fun.. does anyone want to apply for the job of Planetary Protection Officer?

Planetary Protection Officer

The title alone is awesome! Hahaha.. I can hear it now:

"What do you do for a living?"

"I'm a Planetary Protection Officer!"

" :smirk: "

"No really, I protect the planet from aliens, one microorganism at a time!"

If it meant I could have my office in space somewhere then I'd take the job in a second. I could use a break from this rock.

Hey Arm!

I think Robin goes for session 4 today.

Sure did :)

Happy Thursday everyone! (And i added the day in there to help me keep track of the week, i'm all messed up this week with what day it is!).

Did a Lot better this round. We decided to do the Avastin for 90 minutes and lowered the Oxi to 90 or 80 %. Can't remember which.

Avastin has the tendency to raise the blood pressure but Oxi can mess with things too. Playing with both helped in that I had no 'incidences ' today.

Still came down with the usual side effects. My mantra: Only temporary.

Hair.... I definitely think it is thinning. I feel I am shedding more than usual. You can't tell because I have so much of it.
A little here, a little more there... none on my pillow though. Just when I'm messing with it.

If it gets to where I no longer have 'poofy' hair, then I would appreciate the thinning to stop.

Next chemo will be a breeze! Only getting Avastin and just one 'push' of 5FU. No Oxi and no pump! I should be totally fine for my trip the next day. Will also be a very Short day at the oncologist.

Second PET scan is scheduled for the day after we get back. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.

I'm choising to only think positive thoughts: There will be shrinkage, there Will be shrinkage! At least being with the family will help take my mind off it. ;)

That's good to hear.. at least your not totally hammered! And your right, it is only temporary.

As far as your hair, when you recover it will all grow back and look good as new. Don't worry too much about it, that too is temporary. It might look a little sick for a while but that's okay!

Your on the right course.. I have faith!

That's like a foreign language to learn isn't it? Great healthy attitude. Hope your side effects are short lived! Sounds like a relatively good session.

Not quite as foreign as when learning about vaping!! LOLOLOL

Pattern on the side effects have been a week. By next Thursday they will been have pretty much all gone.

I know that can change but I'm really pushing fluids during the 7 days post chemo. Anything to help it cycle through faster. Exercise also helps.

I'm truly working hard at getting through this with the discomfort level at mid to low range.

The guy in a chair across from me had such a negative outlook. That can't be good for his ultimate outcome. I tried to counter his negativity with positive spins. He even called himself a pessimist. Hard to listen to. Thank goodness he was only there for a couple of hours. Felt sorry for him. :(
