KK, my mom buried a fish hook in her thumb too. We sat around all afternoon figuring out how to get it out. We were in the Canadian wilderness so a doctor was out of the question. Ended up yanking it out with a fish string. Wasn't pretty.
It is a small world then Bronze. I bet you were nervous. I'm glad you could get it out for her. The hook wasn't in my thumb though. It was in my left ring finger, at the top right hand side. I remember exactly which finger, and where....lol. I hope you got that hook out on the first yank. The second one with the fishing line is just devastating. I decided pulling it out with the barb intact, hurt less than the full bore yank.
Yes, we all have our little war stories Chak. I now keep wire cutters and pliers in my vehicle at all times. I have tried to read about things you can use naturally for first aid. For a cut, you can use organic Cayenne powder. I read that it doesn't burn. But I have not tried it yet. Several years ago my son sliced his hand pretty badly with a machete, while cutting brush. I rarely use a machete, but since that time, I am very careful with one. So this can be a learning experience. Tools and gear can be dangerous...I can laugh now, but it wasn't funny then. I just wanted DD to know, not to throw any unused pills away. Hopefully he won't have an uh oh moment after this. But you never know. I tried to give him a reason to not toss it in the trash.

The stash is fine, Hula. I'm liking Godfather a lot. Also wondering what PG/VG ratio you sent me, one of the bigger bottles, Gaia I think, was super thick and had a problem wicking in the KF V1. I could only get one hit at a time - the second hit felt burnt. To fix that I mixed it with the other big bottle of Huntsman, they go well together.
As for the debit card, I contacted RTD and they will get back to me soon. Funny, when I tried to use the card to check my balance I forgot the access code and had to get a new card.
It's good to have a first aid kit handy in case of emergency. I cut my right index finger quite badly twice while cutting veggies. Almost the exact same spot too. Now it looks like I'm missing a piece off the side of it - it narrows from the first knuckle to the tip kind of like a claw. The nail was damaged from an accident when I was around 9 years old. I slammed it in a car door and lost the nail - the one that grew back looks split and over lapping itself. I think the dr. had the stitches too tight to stop the bleeding.
Those pain pills may come in handy if there are any left. Good idea.

The Allison auto transmission has been a godsend to buses and smaller trucks. Big rigs...different story. I was a customer of the Allison AT back when they came out in the late 90's early 00's. There was a two-year lead time to get one. I planned on needing about 350 of them over two years. Possibly many more. I agree. If I leave 20 minutes out of town, I try to remember to carry my first aid kit with me. I have one in my fishing bag too. It is just too hot in the summer here, to leave one in the vehicle though. I do keep a snake bite kit in my vehicle at all times though.
It int too shabby, is it Chak. The original Smooth Criminal was a few shades better but it certainly beats out the "*New* Smooth Criminal that sank like a tank. If you're talking about the other big bottle, then yes, that would be 100% VG Gaia. I always go purity with HHV, and as close as I possibly can with any other few juices I buy. To me Gaia tastes like Huntsman used to. Love it!
Oh, and that little bottle of Puros from House of Liquids, that was interesting. So that's what a cuban cigar taste like. I've never smoked one, so I have no reference point to compare.

But, my sweet Pancake is joining me as well in quitting the Nic. Maybe our GERD and Gastritis will clear up? His Mom seems to think vaping is causing it.

Eleanor, that is a start. Right now I have a tarp, blanket, tarp clips, pillow, kleenex, air pump, screwdriver, wrench, firesteel, jumper cables, and a chair. If I leave to a friends twenty minutes away, I carry a backpack with me. It has just about everything I would need to get home. I have some food, first aid kit, hat, knives, sunscreen, bug spray, and all kinds of goodies. That is just my small bag. I usually carry that in the hot months. Now for fall I have a medium backpack filled with stuff. Plus if all goes to you know what, I have another bag. I keep the usual in them. Extra clothes, fire making stuff, emergency sleep gear, dehydrated food and snacks, water purification, more knives, compass, water bottles, bandana, multi-tool, paracord, and flashlights....lol. I don't want to be out in the dark, broke down, and not have food, water, shelter. I have added to this for years now. I also have pepper spray in my purse, and a flashlight. On my keychain I have a Resque-Me tool, and a Nitecore Tube light. The Resque Me tool is good (might have misspelled that) because it can go on your key chain. If you are in an accident and the seat belt won't open, you can cut your way out. It also has a glass breaker on the end of it too. I got mine about 2 years ago, or more. It was about 12 dollars.
