How far from Metairie are you?

It looks like the Hampton in Metairie is right off of I-10 so easy access on and off. That I like!
2 miles maybe?? Seems there a couple of Hamptons in metairie... the one near/on Causeway is in the middle of metairie and close to I-10...

I was stationed at the old Brooklyn Navy Yards the winter of '79- '80. Ed Koch was the Mayor then, and then were dealers and hookers on nearly every corner. Burned out and stripped down cars along nearly every block. Every train or bus, and a lot of buildings wore graffiti. And 2600 murders annually in the five boroughs. The Big Apple was a filthy mess. Rudy changed all of that. Loitering on street corners would get you an overnight in the holding cell. The Mafia was disassembled by Rudy himself in court (that's how he became Mayor) and without organized crime the Police could begin breaking up some of the more unseemly activities. Gang activity was being broken up, and citizens began to feel good about NYC again. Neighborhoods began cleaning up, while the less than sociable types found refuge across the River in New Jersey. Times Square is a world apart from what it once was.

Good Morning Army. Waiting on Coffee Pot....
Surgery on a REO ? Never been there. Actually, I did replace the old aluminum contacts with the newer gold plated ones, but that was by choice. What kind of coil(s) are you running ?

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Good morning from El Paso.

House still has the lingering scent of cigarette smoke. :( The neighbors that are getting the house are aware of what they are going to have to do. Wash and paint walls and replace carpeting. That's on them. They are getting a house for nothing so I really don't think they mind ;)

God, I don't want to start boxing things up  But I do need to get a game plan and start. I think I will start in the back, where I am not seeing it all the time, and work my way forward. Leaving the living room for last....

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do.

Good Morning Army. I don't understand what Chak is complaining about... never took Keyboarding, I type with four fingers - first two of both hands. I delete a lot of misspelled words, too. But I get my point across.
Robin, I-10 is the main corridor from Texas to Florida. Expect a rough ride through Mississippi, unless things have changed they don't spend a lot on their highways.
DO NOT stop in Houston, TX or Lafayette, LA ! Trust me, there are better places along the Interstate.
Enjoy the Journey. It's a good time of the year to travel in Dixie.
Not going to do much today. I'll be heading out on a two-night run tomorrow for Alliance/ Canton on Monday.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

I took typing in junior high and the keyboard is set up the same basic key layout. I once was able to type close to 50 words per minute (copying from a book). That's actually nothing compared to a professional typist, though. Some time sensitive typing jobs require around 80 to 95 wpm and current highest typing speed record is around 212 with highest every at 216. Average folks usually around 50 - 80 wpm.

BTW Good Evening Army.
Rehab on bathroom and MIL's bedroom almost complete. just a couple minor things to put in. Been a hectic week and Mama Chak is wore out giving orders and inspecting stuff. It'll be good to get back to a somewhat normal routine. Also been super hot out the last couple days - up in the 90's with 89 humidity. uhg!

Good luck with packing Robin, were you able to hook up with BK & Retic?
That will happen when we drive all the stuff back to Florida. I flew out here to get started on the packing and hopefully have it all ready to load into a truck when Daughter and her family get here. They are driving down from Michigan the day after Easter.

Couple of weeks before we can have a meet up. :)

ya know... a wind chime rings a certian length of time due to where the string is attached to the tube... I wonder how long it ring if it was like in the space station with no string attached to it...... only problem would be hitting it equally from opposite sides to keep it from flying off....

:)

The 510 connection broke loose again and it had to be resoldered , super glue didn't hold the first time it happened so we epoxied the 510 in and BK ran a bead of solder the length of the 510 for insurance . I'm running a single 28g 1.5 ohm coil in the RM2 , it's all that's needed . I should add that the first time the 510 broke loose is because I slipped and fell and the REO went flying out of my pocket and hit atty first knocking the 510 loose , not a scratch on the wood thankfully or I really would have been heartbroken .

You are lucky to have BK to the rescue on that. Glad your Woodvil wasn't hurt on the wood. I had to send my Woodvil in to Rob for repair. I have to use it now with the atty off to rewick, and it is a pain in the rear to do that. It is still my main vape, but I don't change the wick as often as I was previously. I noticed the atty was slowly slipping down over time. Then one day snap, the solder point snapped. I was out of commission. But he got it going for me again. This is why I need that new Reo, but it will have to wait. No way I can get one right now.
