I never got into Prince and still don't but my view of him changed over the years. Thought of him as some wack job like most all pop stars but then as the years (and decades) went by I saw him as a good person who had talent squirting out his ears. He will be missed by many.

My, you haven't listened to Rush in decades if the last you remember is Big Money and Subdivisions. They tossed all their keyboards the last 15+ years and it's back to heavy stuff again. Truthfully, I don't think there was anything worse for metal bands than the 80's. They all wimped out. For those who went past the 80's many of them returned to their roots. My mom (who was all about classical and big band) loved Mick Jagger. She's turn on MTV just to watch him. They say Mick Jagger would write songs in a matter of minutes. He'd get the bug and whip out a song in no time flat. I was never a huge Stones fan but they are interesting. Charlie Watt cracks me up with that grin of his. He never changes expressions.All- Time Whimper Out Band has to be Rush. Start with "Working Man" and "Overture", end up "Big Money" and "Subdivisions". The Rolling Stones made a huge whimper, going from "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Midnight Rambler" to "Angie" and "Miss You", but Mick is some sort of Pop Royalty. Anybody that can get busted for trafficking ......, and get off scot-free because his squeeze at the time was the Princess of Morocco.... I mean, "C'mon, man"
Woke up from lengthy old man nap to find Mamaw has cooked a Beef Roast in the crock pot with Potatoes and Carrots. And she absolutely nailed it this time. No salt or pepper needed, meat melts in your mouth, potato and carrots cooked but not mushy. Dayam that woman can really cook !
Heh. Preach it, sister!
Disco.
Queen.

As for Prince: a "fookin' genius," as they say. Did not like some of his music (just too too raunchy), but MAN, what a natural performer! As good as Jagger, if not better!
He also had a great sense of humor, and like to make people laugh. Check out George Harrison Jr.'s reaction to Prince doing the guitar solo final at a concert in hommage to George Harrison Sr.:

I heard a story about Prince today that I thought was kind of funny. He was a devout Jehovah's Witness. As you know they like to walk around the neighborhoods spreading their word. Prince was no different. They say he was regularly walking through MN neighborhoods knocking on doors and delivering the word. Can you imagine opening your door and see him standing there wanting to talk about his faith?![]()
What kills me is we have no solicitation signs at the entrance of our little subdivision here. They ignore them. I don't mind the little neighbor kids coming around selling their crap for Boy/Girl scouts but beyond that I have no tolerance for door to door. That would have been the only time I would have answered the door to that group.I don't like door to door salespeople. Jehovah's Witness are door to door sales people, they just happen to be selling religion.

I drank a lot of beer and wine last weekend with our company. Had some IPA that was way too hoppy for me. Tasted like chewing on a grapefruit rind. Then had another one called Weeping Willow. I think it was an NC brewed Belgian style beer. Not too bad. Then went to a wine tasting thingy at a local winery. And of course had to pick up a couple bottles. Got a Riesling and a cranberry/pomegranate blend that was surprisingly good. NC is coming out with some good wines these days.good thing I keep my empties.... now I know how much beer I had

Seriously! The 70's were a blur to me.nawww just remembering things...
weird how some things become so remember-able when life was lived in the "70s"...
now if I had only done what I did in the 70's during collage I may have remembered everything I was taught
I would have been awesome![]()
