It has come to my attention (in the Reonauts new lounge) that this is Truck Driver Appreciation Week. Which means nothing to my employer. On a good year, they will toss a box of "Tucker Lumber" ball caps into the corner and say "Git yerself one !"
But I don't wear ball caps. Straw hats in the summer, toboggan in the winter.

Hopefully David's company does a little more than that. Be Safe, David.

BK, give us an update on your wife please.

Yonj...those temps would drastically reduce any possible cart time here. We are in a heat advisory until Thurs at 7p. Real feel temps will reach 105-109. On days like today, it would be a very short trip. I don't walk her until the temps go down a bit. (never in late afternoon) She likes cooler weather. The hot weather here kicks her fanny pretty good.

Some things are just AWESOME. Saw this on TV the other night.
Would have loved to take the title off the video and ask "What is it?" but there ya go. Around 117 cars, and 1.3 miles long.

That is pretty cool, even though it not the first time I've seen it.

I think I mentioned this before, but there's need to update...
Man, I hate this - my keyboard has several sticky keys! I have tried using contact spray, but it's only a temporary fix. Going to have to operate... :(

I had to buy a new keyboard as I spilled coffee on the old one and within a month of use I spilled beer on the new one. I am not going to buy a new keyboard, but I am going to attempt to repair it. I just needed a couple of tools that I just went out and bought. A torx screwdriver set and spudger. They say I'll also need a heating pad (to loosen the adhesive that keeps the back on (there are no screws). However, I believe I can do the same with a hair drier.

Now all I need is the time to operate.
Wish me luck...

Yeah, our sport is definitely winter only and usually at dawn and dusk. Where I live often has 40 c days in Summer - so I know your pain ;-)

Over heating is a very real and present danger that can be fatal so you need to be very careful.

Im back... been a ruff 2 days.
wifey is still alive but ended up with some "complications" that required an additional day of watching. Pending this mornings exam, she should be able to come home today... if things arent up to par, she will be home on friday. She seems to be having far too much pain and lack of leg muscle control. They want her to be able to be mobile enuf with a walker to be released.

anywhoooo.. woke up way too early tues am ( 1:30) got the wifey to the hospital for 6, stayed awake all day, went to visit her at 5pm, got a phone call to make a double run... ( the night shift guy was too tired to do it) so off I went to Lafayette and Bunkie La... 7 hours later I got home... so that rounds out to about 24 hrs of being up. Fell asleep about 2:30 am woke up for 6:30, went to visit the wifey... ( they had her maxed out on pain meds so the visit was more of watching her sleep) did a couple of local runs and since one of them was close to the hospital, a visit was made... watched her sleep some more :)
by this time Im exhausted and worn... so I crash and burn for the nite.. and I wake up with a tight shoulder and sore neck..
got coffie made and now Im sitting here :)
I have another run this morning that is right around the corner from the hospital... so another quick visit is in store...

and yes, we vaped in the hospital room... and most of the nurses never said a thing about it... altho one gave me the EvilEye when she saw my mod on the widow sill... she asked me if I was "smoking" in the room... I told her no. I said it doesnt make smoke... she walked out....

Not this week but they do a company appreciation thing later. Normally fire up a grill so we can eat when we get in.

Sorry to hear there were complications with Mrs. BK. Hope she's feeling better soon and able to go home for the weekend. Being laid up in the hospital isn't fun for either of you - know that from experience. Hang in there bro.

Hi Eleanor! How's things?

Howdy, Hula! And the rest of the Army!!

I am surfing through a period of extreme fatigue, so only "liking" posts lately, not posting my own.

However, I am terribly proud of my idiot liberal-arts self: Yesterday I learned how to use a toilet auger (never even knew such a thing existed ), and succesfully unclogged the toilet in my guest bathroom! :D:w00t::thumbs::facepalm:
