However, I am terribly proud of my idiot liberal-arts self: Yesterday I learned how to use a toilet auger (never even knew such a thing existed ), and succesfully unclogged the toilet in my guest bathroom! :D:w00t::thumbs::facepalm:
I know who to call now next time it happens to me.

Get better Ms. Eleanor.

another harrowing day... I was told that her release was for 10 am... didnt get out of the hospital till 3:30...
shes home and in bed... I put her walker about 3 feet further away... hopefully she will stay in bed for a while...
pain meds turn her into SuperWonderBat Girl... thinks she can do anything... she ended up with a really kewl machine that flexes the knee from 0 degrees to 165 degrees but shes supposed to start at 45 degrees and add 5 degrees each day till she gets to 120... ( never will be able to go to 165-175 ( heel touching ....)...

now I need to put some handrails on the wall going into her bathroom ( has 2 steps @ 5" high) and she needs the support/security.. thinking that the handicapped handrails seen in the toilet areas might do the trick... its a short wall ( 42") or so... but still enuf of a step to cause a fall and create a broken or sprained wrist... ( actually I know someone that the same thing happened to... )

anyway... Im off to Home Depot to find some handrails...

Howdy, Hula! And the rest of the Army!!

I am surfing through a period of extreme fatigue, so only "liking" posts lately, not posting my own.

Im back... been a ruff 2 days.
wifey is still alive but ended up with some "complications" that required an additional day of watching. Pending this mornings exam, she should be able to come home today... if things arent up to par, she will be home on friday. She seems to be having far too much pain and lack of leg muscle control. They want her to be able to be mobile enuf with a walker to be released.

anywhoooo.. woke up way too early tues am ( 1:30) got the wifey to the hospital for 6, stayed awake all day, went to visit her at 5pm, got a phone call to make a double run... ( the night shift guy was too tired to do it) so off I went to Lafayette and Bunkie La... 7 hours later I got home... so that rounds out to about 24 hrs of being up. Fell asleep about 2:30 am woke up for 6:30, went to visit the wifey... ( they had her maxed out on pain meds so the visit was more of watching her sleep) did a couple of local runs and since one of them was close to the hospital, a visit was made... watched her sleep some more :)
by this time Im exhausted and worn... so I crash and burn for the nite.. and I wake up with a tight shoulder and sore neck..
got coffie made and now Im sitting here :)
I have another run this morning that is right around the corner from the hospital... so another quick visit is in store...

and yes, we vaped in the hospital room... and most of the nurses never said a thing about it... altho one gave me the EvilEye when she saw my mod on the widow sill... she asked me if I was "smoking" in the room... I told her no. I said it doesnt make smoke... she walked out....
Sorry to hear your lady had a few complications, but glad it's all done and am sure she will be too once she's recovered enough to enjoy her new mobility.
Typical of some folks yes - if they have to ask if you've been "smoking" in a room, then obviously you haven't because smoke smells - and it smells big time to the non-smoking nose, especially in a non-smoking facility. Sheesh! Try and make a bit of time for YOU to recharge too!

I have times like that. Seems they get longer as I get older. Congrats on completing your lesson on proper use of the toilet snake. :headbang: Something everyone should know. :w00t:

Glad to hear she's home now and on the mend. Mama Chak doesn't need pain meds, boredom turns her into SuperWonderBat Girl. We put in four ramps over steps to make navigating the wheelchair through/around the house easier. :D

If I'm Mrs. Killer I'd milk this one for all it's worth. Room service for another year. Get her one of those handbells she can ring whenever she needs you. :)

Good thing it's electronic. If she had a real bell she'd probably conk you over the head with it. Ouch!
Yup, the button don't hurt so much. ;)
