Afternoon......Sometimes you just run out of steam..

OMG!!!! My Buckley (9 month-old kitten) "sploots" too! I've never seen a cat (or doggie) do that before; I assumed it meant he was double-jointed!! (My gosh, his little legs are SOO cute sticking out backwards and upside-down, with his pink paw pads sticking up!) He's as cute as that sugar-pie corgi.:wub::wub:

As others have noted, Crazy Irma has jogged all the way over to the edge of Florida's WEST coast, so we are now expecting nothing more than tropical storm winds and rain bands here (YAY). My brother and his household had all evacuated to his eldest son's place in Tampa; last night we called and they had NO IDEA the freaking storm was now taking dead aim at THEM (too busy cooking & partying to watch weather channel). Saturday a.m. they all packed up, including eldest son, and hauled tail over to Jacksonville, where middle child (daughter) lives. Picture it: 3 cars, 5 cats, and 5 adults racing across the state!

I expect we may still lose power here sometime tomorrow, so just wanted to check in and say hi/bye. :) Many thanks for all your prayers!

@LAwater I uploaded it wrong. Here's what my handsome dad shared with me this morning.

So glad you and Robin and the East Floridians are going to be OK. Now we'll channel positive karma to get that hurricane moving off the coast of West Florida, so barbecues may continue! West Florida had NO warning. The course change was only announced yesterday I think. I would love to see a Buckley sploot LOLOL

Since the news is weather I went ahead and switched to the weather channel and I have to say, I'm glad I'm not a meteorologist.

These fool producers stick these guys outside in winds they can barely stand up in and film them trying to stand and talk at the same time. It's rather distracting as a whole, because all I think is that I'd up and quit. This guy is having such a hard time trying to stay standing that he has braced himself on a tree, and he is still out of breath just trying to stand..

Ridiculous. Let the man indoors at the very least.. why anyone wants to see this guy pelted with rain and then blown down the street is anyone's guess.

Prayers going out for all Floridians. Never get hurricanes on the west side, so I'm finding this one a bit shocking.

But I'm going to turn off the weather channel.. as I have no desire to see this man suffer any longer. He should quit and go inside. :(

First: CONGRATULATIONS on the new grand baby!!!!!

Now for local news <said in best newscaster voice>

We still have power (yay!) but damn, some of these gusts are intense!

We decided to not put the shutters on our slider. It is well protected by the house wall on the side the wind is coming from. I'm sitting out here now and reporting from my lounge chair. *snicker*

We had some tornado warnings for north of us. Up by Eleanor and where MIL's house is located. Doesn't sound like any touched down and it was more a case of seeing some rotation in the radar. Since when did they start issuing warnings on possible circulation?!? Used to be that was considered a watch. I guess a watch doesn't generate enough fear ....

So anyway, I will report back later. I need to get breakfast and figure out what I need to get out of e freezer for dinner.

Oh, last night ourback neighbor came over for dinner and the 4 of us played a fun card game.

Wind is kicking up again so I'll use this time to go eat. ;)

Robin and Eleanor, I have you in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep updating us now and then, so we don't worry so much about you and your family. I am concerned about it reaching the Gulf of Mexico. They say it will veer NW later. Once a hurricane reaches the Gulf, all bets are off. They seem to get a mind of their own after that.

I know it's a bad day for so many, so I kind of hate not knowing what to say..

But on a happy note, I have rewicked and increased my nicotine level in my ejuice, made a special batch (just 30 ml.. cinnamon roll yummmm) so I can get some decent nicotine without vaping much..

So I'm sitting here with a fresh wick and plenty of nic.. happy happy vaping!

Football, weather and laundry.

My Dad lost power a long time ago, very early this morning. He's sending email updates every few hours.
Hopefully my step brother in Tampa Bay has everything boarded up. My mom is about an hour east of Tampa, so she should be ok. I should check on them both.
