Awesome Link!!! Now I really feel like I need to try my hand at another apple pie. !!

Thanks a lot :sneaky:

Bwahahahahahaha!

Hahaha... it is a little work so if you don't care for the work then don't do it - of course, it's only time consuming if you dont have an Apple peeler and corer..

Don't worry, I do it all by hand.. lol. But, it's not back breaking... although one of those cool doodads might be cool!

Being in the kitchen and making things is fun for me, I just plain enjoy doing it. If there was only one room in the house I'd want it to be my kitchen.. you don't have to be that way.. I've just been this way since I was a kid.

Anyway, I'm off for the rest of the day... you guys have a lovely weekend!

It has been a rough day for me. It looks like my mother has decided the puppy isn't going to work out for her. So I am trying to find the pup a new home. I can't afford her right now, otherwise I'd just keep her. I'm not helping my mother get a new pet in the future, and I told her that. if she gets one, she will have to arrange the whole thing. She can count me totally out of it. I feel so bad for the puppy. She is such a sweet little thing. My dog has grown to enjoy her company too.

SNIFF!!:cry: I am so sorry, Kkay -- for you, for your doggie, and most of all for that sweet pup, whose only "fault" is being a dang puppy!!

Here we go.. probably too much juice in these apples though, or not enough flour...

But anyway.. here is one Apple pie hot from the oven. It's edible.. might not be pretty today though.. lol..

Yum yum yum . . .

My problem with the pie is that the crust stays beautiful and rounded. Cut open the pie and the apples are laying in the bottom and a crap ton of air between the apples and the crust

After that fiasco, no more. Give me a non crust top pie to make and I can do that no problem. Pumpkin and lemon meringue come to mind.

Compromise: do an Apple Strudel, where the top crust is just a lattice work!;)

Pappy, the apple pie talk is making me hungry too.
You need another dog about like I do....LOL! (after the three more anyway) Thanks for the kind comment though.

Eleanor, yes it is indeed sad. I still cannot believe the predicament I'm in. I'm gonna miss the little cutey, and so is my dog. They have been getting along very well. My dog even lays on the floor on her back, and lets the puppy terrorize her. (my dog is enjoying it for the most part) It sounds much worse than it actually is.

My son's dog could care less about the puppy. He is too old to want to mess with the puppy, or my three year old dog either. No word yet from my two leads on whether they want to take her or not. My daughter has a sick in-law, so she maybe she didn't ask her friend yet.

@Opinionated I love cooking too.. I don't do as much in the summer months but during the winter I'm always looking for new things to try. I'm not a fan of 'crust' on a pie, so my go to is Apple Crisp. We don't have desserts much now tho, so I try to focus on meals.

I prefer desserts, and skip the boring stuff.

Makes you miss a wood stove doesn't it? It does me for sure.

I went from wood burning stove to electric heat back in 2002 I think it was and have had electric heat ever since, but sometimes I really miss wood heat..

I miss it now. I could definitely go for a nice hot stove without having to worry that it's too early in the year yet for heat! Haha haha.
Oh but we do have a wood stove. on our front porch. It does most of the house heating also. Oil furnace runs in the coldest weather.

    That's awesome!

Ours used to be in our living room, but it heat the whole house. Was a difficulty though on the vacuuming, as we were always traipsing wood through the house. Lol..
