Papaw, I agree on on a lot of the news being a 24/7 global thing now. Texas is in the bible belt. Churches were not touched by criminals and evil people. Very young children were among those shot and killed. That takes an even more special kind of evil. This just didn't happen when I was younger, not here. We did have a rash of fires set by two young guys, but that was less than ten years ago. That shocked me. They made a movie out of that. But what happened yesterday...well I can't even verbalize my feelings about it. There just doesn't seem to be any accurate words to relay my thoughts. We do live in historic times. I fear for my grown kids. You can bet there will be thousands upon thousands of church meetings here about security. I imagine we will not be alone in that.

I agree things have worsened. Seems it coincides with the breakdown of the family unit that has taken place over the last several decades. Many of these kids grow up with no one minding the store. However, I wont let it dominate my thought or bring me down. That's what these low-lives want.

In a way I feel that all these stories on the news gives those inclined to do such despicable things the thought that they might get that attention. Those news items may be even giving them ideas.

Then another part of me feels that those that do control the media have an agenda. They want guns to be gone. What better way than to report shootings? Get everyone up in arms (pun intended sorta, kinda) especially if kids are victims. We've seen how well bringing kids into any debate tugs the heartstrings (intentional of course) to the side that introduces kids into the equation.

If you want something to go your way, bring in children.

No, I'm not heartless but I am pragmatic and getting more jaded as I age. Sometimes I truly wish I could back to my naivety where I actually thought government was looking out for my and the country's best interest. Unfortunately I can't go back.

I see the same patterns over and over again. The patterns of manipulating minds by bringing in kids as victims.

Ugh /end rant.

Ban guns and the only ones that will have them are the killers. And if they don't have guns then they'll make bombs (which is easy to do) or vehicles or whatever. Killers are killers and we can do only so much from a legislative approach.

I am all for being able to protect yourself, and your family. Please don't misunderstand me there. There are many more cases of good guys protecting themselves and stopping bad guys, than the other way around. Still, you have to wonder how anyone can do this type of thing. We can't go the way of Australia and England though. That wouldn't solve the issue at all.

Not that I'm a big conspiracy theorist, but I'm pretty convinced of this.

Especially when you consider that the vast majority of news outlets - whether online, print, TV or anything else - are owned and controlled by around 5 mega-corporations. I saw a YouTube video that compiled statements on the same event by 20+ different newscasters on national, local, regional stations. All different sources. Guess what? Every one of them made statements identical to the others. They all have the same script!

I think it's not just guns they are after. When we've all been incited into divisive hatred and mistrust, many will plead with the govt for martial law. The age-old surrendering of liberty for the sake of security.

I've been reading the horrific news of what happened today. The evil is just heartbreaking. When I was young, we never had this kind of thing going on. I worry for my kids, even though they're grown. I don't see it getting any better. I read that was the town's only church too. The amount of suffering that has been going on lately just really leaves me speechless.

I read your post earlier when I had a half a minute to come to the forum.. took me all day to have the time to see what you were talking about.

That is just horrible what happened. My prayers go out to the families affected.

So very sad.

Well, I haven't had any Heavenly tobacco in quite a while. I went ahead and started vaping it without aging it. I let it go two days without the top cap. I couldn't stand it, so I went ahead and vaped some of it. Wow, I sure have missed it. I got the 60/40 at 6mg. I went from 12 to 6mg. Then I ran out of almost everything. What I had left was 12mg. So this is a 6mg, and I am not missing the 12mg. I may or may not be vaping a little more. I will have to let the Legend age though. I haven't had Fresh Grindz in a while, so I can't remember how long it needs to be aged.

I cannot understand either. Sounds like this guy was just bad. The reports are that he was dishonorably discharged from the service and that he had a history of beating his wife. Just a bad guy all around.

Almost forgot...My juice order is here and I see we have new labels and a name change...I like it..:thumb:

Yay! I'm glad you like it. I was going for a less feminine design. The black caps are meant to match the new labels.

No skull this time - but a more upscale look to match the amazing quality of HHV. :)

We vote today in our state. Governor is one of the positions we are voting for - so a rather important state election.

My husbands sister came by last night to tell us that our district's polling station has been changed - some water leak or something caused it.

Thing is, the city (whom she works for) isn't telling people in our district about this rather important change. She feels they are deliberately hiding the change. She told her husband and her husband called both papers and the radio station so people would at least know and it got a very small light mention on page 10 of one paper, no mention at all in another, and nothing on the radio yet (at least as of 11pm last night)

I wonder how many people are going to vote today from our district. Go to the same place every election most your life with no mention of it being in a COMPLETELY different spot (that you don't even drive by when going to the old polling place - that most people will never drive by ever in the course of their day it's so remote) and people might not go to vote!

It's kind of upsetting. .. but today.. we vote.

and my view on the guns issue... yes we should have the 2nd Amendment, we should have weapons to defend our homes and selves.... from a government that will turn on us if given the chance. But, I also agree that any crime done with a gun should end in a death penalty ( and a quick one at that, no 18 yrs in jail first)... even a "simple" one like waving it around while robbing a convienence store or pulling out a gun and being the first aggressor in a fight situation ( defensive handling of a gun will also get serious attention from the law too but wont end in conviction status) sooo... with the promise of a death sentence for aggressive gun usage, maybe people wouldnt be so eager to pull one out...
also, the agenda to remove guns from the hands of citizens, leaving us without, opens the door to allow the government to make their move... it just seems its a natural evolution of a government to try to control its people completely in all matters of life and thought.
