We vote today in our state. Governor is one of the positions we are voting for - so a rather important state election.

My husbands sister came by last night to tell us that our district's polling station has been changed - some water leak or something caused it.

Thing is, the city (whom she works for) isn't telling people in our district about this rather important change. She feels they are deliberately hiding the change. She told her husband and her husband called both papers and the radio station so people would at least know and it got a very small light mention on page 10 of one paper, no mention at all in another, and nothing on the radio yet (at least as of 11pm last night)

I wonder how many people are going to vote today from our district. Go to the same place every election most your life with no mention of it being in a COMPLETELY different spot (that you don't even drive by when going to the old polling place - that most people will never drive by ever in the course of their day it's so remote) and people might not go to vote!

It's kind of upsetting. .. but today.. we vote.

Maybe have someone stationed at the old place to direct those who show up where they need to go?

Yeah I was thinking of making a notice for the door of the old polling place... the building is used for nothing but voting, so it won't bother anyone to be there.

I checked this morning on the state website where you can check to see where you go to vote and the new place is accurately listed so hopefully between a door notice and the state website people will find their way. .

It's not like our districts few votes will make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things, our votes are nothing compared to northern Virginia and some of the bigger cities, but for goodness sake don't make it hard on people or decide it shouldn't matter whether we vote or not!

I got Cassie's last set of shots done today. She weighed 11.6 lbs. I thought she would be 15-16 pounds fully grown. She does have some adult teeth already. I don't know where the baby teeth went. Strange, I never see puppy teeth once a dog starts losing them. Knowing Cassie, she probably swallowed them.

Odd. I just ordered over $100 of liquid at HHV, and the option or upgrade to priority mail (which I thought was automatic over $40) did not appear/happen. Strange.

Your order should be shipped via Priority Mail. I don't remember there having been a need to select it in the past - it just happens. Let me know if it doesn't ship Priority. Or you can PM me your order number and I'll check on it for you before it ships.
