Oh! Have fun at the ball!

Just make sure you leave by 12....don't want our beloved Hula to have her coach turn into a pumpkin ;)
LOL - I think it's too late and it was me who turned into a pumpkin long before the ball, when it came to "what the heck dress can I wear for this?"

OK ... Im gonna break some morality issues here but (Retic would have preferred that I stay silent on this..thats the way he is)... Im gonna mention it any way.... Retic needs prayers and thoughts at the moment... he was admitted into the hospital for an issue concerning his health.. he seems to have a situation that is dealing with his spinal cord not regeneration the fluid that is required to keep him healthy... there is some issues of him loosing volintary muscle control and causing severe pain and potential permenent paralysis.. he has been scheduled for surgery as of this morning... havent heard from him or his spouse since this morning... hopefully things went well... I plan on visiting him in the morning ( sunday) .... I have been friends with Retic for over 30 yrs...but as far as things go, I felt that yall needed to know.... even tho he dislikes his personal life "exposed".... he does have a strong religious background.. so Im hoping that the strength of prayer will help him through this.... I wish him the best and hope what yall can offer will help him to recover......... Im still at a loss or words on my end... Im still trying to "consume" this... I will do what I can to keep yall updated.... thank you....

I'm sorry to hear that and yes, I will definitely have him in my prayers.

On a happy note, the kids went home a couple days ago. They left late Thursday afternoon. We had so much fun while they were here.. had a lovely time.

It'll probably be a couple more days before I am back to being my talkative self on ecf. but I didn't want to be gone from here too long without stopping in to say hi.

So.. HI!

OK, follow along on this one.

Ever since the time changed from daylight savings to standard time, the clock on my cable box has been wigging out. Or so I thought. It would add or subtract an hour seemingly at random. It would read the correct time most of the time but now and again it would be off exactly one hour. I figured the cable company was messing up since they are the ones who control that clock from their headquarters. I use that clock 100% of the time when I'm in the living room. Anyway, I figured the cable company will get it sorted out eventually. But it's been a week now and I got tired of it so I got on a chat line and asked them if they were ever going to fix their freaking clock. The tech didn't know what I was talking about and said she "refreshed" the line and to reboot the system. She's says contact them again if that didn't fix it. Bye! I knew that was just to blow me off cuz she had no clue what my problem was much less how to fix it. Well, that was at 10 something o'clock this morning when I chatted with her. Also during our back and forth (that went on for 40 minutes) I also noticed a segment was burned out on the clock display. I'm thinking that's two things wrong with this damn box. I'm gonna drive downtown one day and exchange it.

Tonight I'm sitting here and it says 5:20. I know it's 6:20. It's off an hour again. Damn it!!! I mean, after a week of this crap I'm getting ....... How hard can it be for this useless cable company to get their clock right? Then suddenly it occurred to me. The clock was running just fine. Nothing wrong with the accuracy. The problem was that burnt out segment. It makes a six look like a five and an eight look like a nine. So it's five something o'clock for two hours and nine something o'clock for two hours. I'm like....:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

Look at the zero in the hour slot. Imagine that lower left segment not lighting when it's six o'clock and again when it's eight o'clock and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Add the only time that segment lights up is at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock...about the only time I'm not in that room to notice the segment is burnt out. And add again that this happened at the same time we changed clocks to standard time, and well.....

gary update...

hes still in the hospital, gonna be there for several more days. He has degenerative arthritis in his neck and the collapse of the vertebrea caused the lack of spinal fluid to flow properly. He now has metal holding things together. Other than the pain from the surgery... he seems to be himself :)

I thought for sure we would've heard something by now! Retic, I hope you are doing okay. I am very concerned. Hang in there buddy!
I know what BK is going thru. My BFF of 43 years had one health issue after the other over the past three years. Two knee replacements, quadruple bypass, gallbladder surgery, blood pressure all over the map, hepatitis C, still needs ankle surgery. He's like a brother to me and I'm nowhere ready to lose him. I got to thinking deeply about him these last few years and how quickly he has fallen apart. After all these decades and all he has been thru and all my worry thinking about him not in my life and I can say without hesitation that I love him. I know how concerned BK is and I feel for him.

I am sooooooo thankful to hear Gary got through surgery okay. Scary stuff and a painful condition to live with. I'll be keeping him in my prayers. Still praying for you and Mrs BK too. :)

Okay, that was hilarious! Totally something I would do too. I can't tell you how often I think the problem is something complex. I constantly have to remind myself of the KISS principle.
