Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everybody ! I got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon , they replaced 3 sections of my spine with metal and plastic and I'm feeling every nut and bolt , seriously hurts , can't stay upright for too long so I'm keeping this brief .

Thanks for checking in Ret. And I'm sure you are a mess right now. That is some serious surgery there. And the spine feels everything. I suspect you got a bit of recovery ahead of you. The good news is you're a tough guy. I know you'll hang in there. In the meanwhile, we all feel for you. Do your best and check in when you can. Best of luck, Friend!

Gary, I can't believe you are out of the hospital already! I am thrilled to hear you are doing well. The pain though, I'm very sorry to hear about that. I know this is rough, no doubt. I was shocked to see you post already. I hope you have a speedy recovery, and all is well with you once again!!

Excellent news that you are out of the hospital. They don't really let you rest there. Thanks for checking in! The recovery is no fun and prayers will continue for that to go as well and as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the update. Now stay horizontal for a while and let your body heal.

Well did a few things today. Talked to the city about the fence. Yes I'll need a permit. Have to get their $25.. Bought a couple books at B&N. Really should spent more time off the PC and do more reading. And made a beer run so I don't have to on Saturday. Stopped at the vets also. Some of the adoption apps ask for a vet reference so wanted to know if I needed to let them know ahead of time. I don't. Now it's raining...

Sounds like a good way to spend a day off. :)

Good Evening Army. 500+ miles Monday, just over 700 miles yesterday, 52 miles today.
Scheduled for 600+ miles tomorrow. Cooler weather can make trucking spastic like that.
Gary it is good to hear you are starting the road to recovery. Probably seems like little, if any, improvement at this point. But as the body heals I have confidence you will feel better. Just put some well steeped Legend in a Reos and lie back for a few weeks ;).

Well dinner got made and eaten, hubby backto work now. Made pan fried hamburgers on homemade hamburger buns topped with sauteed mushrooms, onions and some Swiss cheese, a nice salad chock full of yummy veggies to make up for the French fries I made.. lol. I'm full now.

Got Thanksgiving sorted, going to my SIL house and I'm bringing the dinner rolls. My husbands work potluck is the Wednesday before thanksgiving and I'm making the Turkey, stuffing and rolls for that so I'm just making an extra couple dozen to take on Thursday...it all sounds doable!

Nothing left but a little housework and some television... lazy night tonight!

So happy that @retic1959 is out of the hospital and starting down the long road to recovery! Great to hear! I know what back surgery is like where they add metal and rebuild stuff so I know it's no fun.. but we are all here rooting for you and a shoulder and place to vent if you need! So glad the surgery went as well as it did!

I was informed at the dinner table that Mamaw is not cooking Thanksgiving :(
We will be doing Thanksgiving at my Daughter's house instead.

Hahaha - it shouldn't be too bad if mamaw taught her how to cook!

However, if your daughter is anything like mine was and took all my recipes and made them "healthy" (aka inedible cardboard) then I hope you survive the experience!

Hahaha - I am sorry! There is still hope for Christmas!

cooking from yesteryear... take things that are good to eat and make them taste better
cooking today... involves chemistry... take essential things we need and make it terrible...

for example, we need salt but todays cooking takes salt to a new level and breaks it down to sodium and chlorine... an alkaline metal that explodes in water and a gas that turns your lungs into an acid producing organ

    BUHAHAHAhahahhaaaaaa
