The wind chill was brutal to me last night. Once the wind died down, it wasn't bad at all. Tonight it will be a low of 35 deg. Friday it was a high of 81 with a low of 64. I guess I'm gonna have to break down and put on a pair of jeans today. :) I prefer shorts nearly all year long.

Hi Army :)

Survived the train but didn't sleep much. Slept so, so last night but my hips are sincerely happy with having an actual bed.

We are just chilling at the hotel for the rest of the day (aka hubby is snoozing through the football games) since the rest of the week plans on being quite busy.

Windy here also. At least the daytime temps are in the 50's....for now. ;)

Four leagues (I am League Commissioner all four) ;
7- 2- 1, First Place in the Division, matched up against my daughter this weekend.
7- 3, First in Division, matched up with old Steelers Fan.
8- 2, First in Division, could win Division this weekend.
5- 4- 1, Money League, Third in Division, matched against Son-in-Law this week.

Like anybody cares....
Well I care or I wouldn't have asked. I'm only in 2 leagues, ranked first in both, 6:4 and 8:2.

the city of N.O. is as corrupt as they come... I had gotten a red lite ticket back in Oct... sent the check about a week after I got the notice ( well within the due date about 2.5 weeks before due date) yesterday I get a delinquent payment notice from them ( which added on an additional 50$ for late fees etc)... I checked the statement and it showed that the city cashed the check 2 days after the late date ( this is now 3 weeks after it got put into the mail)... so either the post office is terribly slow in getting things moved about 15 miles ( 3 weeks) or the City held the check for about 1/2 a week to allow the time lapse to occur and tack on the additional fees... other drivers who have been "caught" have also mentioned this same " occurance"... and the strange thing about all of this is that the normal time duration for the yellow light period for an intersection of its size is anywhere from 5.5 - 7 seconds... the Red lite camera intersections are set for 4 seconds... interesting huh???? o_O Seems they intentionally shorten the duration due to the fact that most drivers are accustomed to a 5-7 second yellow... if you were to go down the block to the next intersection, the yellow duration is 6 seconds....
and I got "busted" for running a Red lite at .3 seconds... ( .3 seconds into the red) yup .3 seconds thats as fast as a blink of an eye, as fast as something can fall in 8" ( the bar trick when trying to grab a dollar bill as it falls)... and they know as when one approaches an intersection as the light is yellow or just turned yellow the driver will slow down and be looking to the left for oncoming traffic instead of staring at the red lite... which increases your chance of being caught...

full day today... got called at 1:20 am for a run going to Jackson Ms. ( 185 miles) for a 6 am delivery... so I left at 2:30am got to the warehouse, picked up the order and got the part... something felt weird when I noticed what part it was ( DIMM for computers) normally an order of this nature requires 2 boxes of the same thing... but the order showed 1 box needed, so I grabbed 1 box and it still felt weird so I rechecked the order to make sure it was 1 and not 2... yup 1 box... so off I go..
I delivered on time and left for home and about 20 minutes later the repair guy calls me asking why there wasnt 4 pieces in the box... HUH? only 2 per box... you needed 2 boxes for 4 bars of DIMM.... so they had to make another order to get 2 more DIMMs.. by the time I made it back to the warehouse the order came thru and I grab another box and get my self back on the road to Jackson... once again delivered on time ( barely) ... 13 hrs of driving and 750ish miles... at least I got paid for 2 full trips.... that was some very expensive memory bars....

Well it sure was hectic a little while ago. I got the dogs a little cheap stuffed animal from the pet store. They have been bored of what few toys they have. So I got them a little raccoon looking toy. They were really excited about it. I thought now I might be able to cut some trips out the door, because they are BORED. So they were playing with it, and having a lot of fun. All of a sudden I hear Bella make a quick loud yelp. I thought that Cassie must've gotten rough with her. I look around to see what was going on. Bella has the toy stuck to her foot, and Cassie was pulling it. I wondered how in the world Bella got in this predicament. I tried to detach it with Cassie still loose. She was still trying to grab the toy. I had to lock her in the crate, so I could look at what was going on.

Somehow Bella's toenail got stuck in a loop of material. There are no LOOPS in the toy, which made it strange. I thought one of the dogs made a hole in it from sharp teeth, most likely Cassie. No, there wasn't a hole in the toy. I couldn't get the nail out of the loop. Somehow Bella had a crack in her toenail, and the loop went over it, to the base of the nail. You couldn't just slip it off. The loop was made from snagging, and pulling material up. Very weird! I finally had to get the flashlight to see why it wasn't slipping off. A portion of her nail was broken, and it snagged from a sharp piece from what remained of the nail. I'm lucky she didn't rip the toenail, or have blood everywhere. She was happy I got it off, as you can imagine. I trimmed her front nails, and then used a buffing stick to hopefully avoid that issue in the future. In my entire life I've never seen a situation like this. So much for a little peace and quiet. My nerves were shot, I'll tell you that.

This is the exact toy.

Robin you are right, it was a freak accident. I didn't notice that the broken part of the nail was caught in the material too, until Bella was free of it. I think that a slight crack in the nail caught, and the pulling of the toy ended up breaking it. She has thick solid black nails, and I don't trim them short. I'm afraid of getting in the quick. Cassie's nails are white, and you can clearly see the pink of the quick. I cut them much shorter, because I can see that quick. I thought Bella might give that toy a wide berth, but she did pick it up again.

Well I gave the Legend a whirl last night. I thought it might be too early, and it was. I will have to try to let it age longer. I don't want to waste it. I will wait a while longer.

Retic, I have you in my thoughts. I hope you are feeling a little better!

I think North Carolina is the worst at being corrupt and over charging just to overcharge..

My husband got a ticket there once, paid the fine and the ticket showed as paid. He put it out of his mind at that point.

A year later they suspended his license saying that ticket never got paid, and by then he hadn't kept the proof he paid it so had to pay the exact same ticket all over again, as well as reinstatement fees and the whole nine.

The whole ordeal was ridiculous, and I hear he wasn't the only one NC did that to, had a trucker say they tried doing that to him - twice on the same ticket.

But yeah, traffic tickets stopped being a means to protect people a long time ago, now they are just money making schemes...

if a magnet has a "north pole" and a "south pole" and the north side is attracted to the south side... ( 2 magnets sticking together).... why doesnt a magnet suck itself into its own self since it has both the north and south?? If magnets were "soft" would it turn itself into a donut shape?
