@LAwaters My cuisinart coffee maker died this week so that cappuccino looks divine!

I opted for a French press. I questioned myself tho.. I really like my coffee ready when I wake up... But so many friends swear the French press makes the most amazing coffee.. It arrives Monday.

Oh, I have a backup travel size coffee maker. Not doing without, that's for sure!

1100$ for a fuel pump replacement???? :shock::shock::shock::shock:

what are they gonna do?? replace the back end of the truck?

fuel pump for an S10 is 45-250$ depending on what needs replacing... just the pump/motor or the whole unit... and the avg price per hr for work is 75$ ( and thats dealership mechanic prices)... sooo... if they use the top end pump price and 10 hrs of work as a base price.. the mechanic is painfully slow at his job or fibbing about the real price to do it.

get another estimate !! that price is 2X to high... should be in the 400-550 range. Something like that should only take 2.5 - 3 hrs labor, and normally its just the motor/pump head that is shot...

We can tell you’re not doing without. You’re still cheery!

Mmmmm, French press coffee! That’s my every day version since 2005. Never looked back. I did invest in a conical burr grinder by Caspresso. Almost 14 yrs later both have had daily use, sometimes multiple times a day and never been replaced.

Here’s my hot tips for mind-blowing French press coffee.

1) Pour your hot water over the grinds and try to get some water on all of them. I make a circle around them to get them all.

2) Let it sit like that without the lid for at least 1 full minute.

3) Stir the grinds into the water for 30 seconds. Steps 2 & 3 help to release carbon dioxide from the beans. This minute and a half makes all the difference!

4) Put the lid on without plunging. Just let the mesh sit on top of the grinds and water.

5) Wait 7 minutes. Then plunge.

Even people who don’t normally drink coffee rave about it when it’s made like this. I do buy good whole beans from Coffee Bean. Their Bali blend is incredible. I order it online. It’s not the cheapest, but I love my coffee!

Despite those steps listed above, I don’t find it to be high maintenance. The French press is easier to clean and has fewer parts to break down.

Takes me only about 10 minutes till I’m pouring my coffee. That includes the time to grind the beans. :)

It might be cheaper to buy a new fuel pump and build another S10 around it.

David should rename his truck to S1050.

Evening....Dollar General DC has kicked my tail this week. I forgot I had so many places that could hurt at the same time. The shop said there was no fuel pressure so the pump is shot. $1050..to do. Also checked the battery and it tested weak. Told them not to do the battery. It's an Interstate battery and I think it's only been in the truck for about 3 years. So I think I may have some warranty on it still. Hate the cost of the pump replacement but I'm not getting on the ground to drop the tank. Besides it could be worst...

For $1050 I’d lease out your S10 to pump the Keystone Pipeline.

You might want to consider taking out a separate insurance policy for that fuel pump.

I have a French press, it does make a good cup of coffee...but husband got tired of me being a word I don't think I'm allowed to type here while waiting for it to get done in the morning, so he bought me a Keurig for my birthday one year. Still have the press for an emergency though.

Get both. You can use the French Press for the second or third cup. Otherwise it may end up going through the window! This time of year, you can get a lot of regular 12 cup programmables for $15-20.00.
