The squirrels don’t like my trap. Gonna have to seal off that hole either way. I have the stainless steel mesh. Will need to rig a tool to install it. I’ll play with that tomorrow.
This one has cat video, and isn't so ear-wormy.

I'll cut it to size then wedge it between the dormer soffit and the roof where they meet. Hoping this squirrel proofs it.

Yeah, this stuff is pretty strong actually. It bends but it aint wimpy. Not sure this size is what you're looking for but maybe there are other sizes better suited for the radiator. I would think the screen would restrict airflow too much but you're saying it hasn't been an issue.Interesting. A long while back Mrs CMD [before she was Mrs CMD so I felt a need to impress her] had a 1975 Datsun F10 with A/C. A rock flew up and punctured the AC condenser in front of the radiator. I found the hole, cleaned it and surrounding areas with brake cleaner to get the oil off as best I could. I sealed it with epoxy putty. That worked rather well with a periodic recharge [back when we were using the older and more efficient gas] but I never wanted that to happen again.
I started placing a layer of roofing screen over the condenser in all subsequent vehicles then fastening it how ever was most convenient to the auto. My thinking was that I didn't need to stop all projectiles only slow them enough so that they would not puncture the condenser. So far the idea, for forty two years, has worked. I have to inspect these things frequently and I see evidence of rocks flying around without puncturing the condenser.
But, that SS mesh looks like it would be stronger while allowing adequate air flow and easier to attach because I could bend it some allowing it to conform to shape - the roofing screen is flaccid some areas needs to be redone through heat and wind. It looks as though it may be stronger than roofing stuff.
Many thanks, Generalissimo.

I gotta figure out a way to wedge that screen in there. I cannot get on that roof. Way too steep and I'm way too chicken. But I think I can reach it from a ladder using a long pole. Either attaching two broom handles or I have a 12' long piece of rebar. I'd rather use the broom handles (less cumbersome). Then I have to attach the screen to the end of the pole somehow. Will try securing a 6-8" wide push board to the end of the pole then holding the screen to that push board with plumber's putty or playdoh or something. Enough to hold the screen in place while wedging it in but soft enough to twist off once wedged. I know, dopey, but it just might work. Hoping the mesh is wedged in hard enough to keep the squirrels from puling it out. I think it will. And I don't see them chewing through stainless steel screen. The roofing screen looks a little more like one or two of the other choices with somewhat larger weave. I will compare them when it gets warmer. The roofing screen is tough but floppy with large enough weave that it has been Okay. I like the ability to kind of "mold" it to shape

It's all the way up where the roof meets the back of the dormer. I've been up there before and it took my sphincter two weeks to heal. Doesn't look hairy until you actually go to crawl up there. It's hairy! I'm going to lean a ladder against that gutter (I've done that three thousand times) and reach that spot with the pole.

I’d keep him busy Pops.Nothing an adult male German Shepherd couldn't remedy, General.
Evening... Just got home. My day was going really well then as always dispatch screwed it up. Time for a few beers and due to the late night pizza rolls...
