Damn cat was out all night again. Comes home this afternoon. Let him in and he barfs on the floor and wants to go back outside. What an azz!
Can't tell if you got lucky, or not. My Nermal will absolutely not puke on the linoleum. It's got to be on carpet, bed, or not at all.

General, here is twelve minutes you might enjoy. George Washington's determination to have a peaceful change of power.
American Cincinnatus: George Washington Lays Down His Sword | The Federalist Society
It’s a story every American should know. We are among the most fortunate people to have ever lived because we are descendants of the greatest mortal man who ever lived. The father of our country.

This story also suggests something not as well known. That is, the vitally important role of Mount Vernon and Martha Washington. It were these that really owned him. This was the life he wanted. One he did not get much of. Funny thing too, he married Martha for her inherited money. Turns out she was the most cherished person in his life and the reason he could easily give up power. Says a lot about Martha. She burned all their letters just prior to her death. There were many. The General wrote to her every day. If only we could have seen those letters!

I hoped you would like it. Even King George III thought that should Washington give the power he could have had then he would be the greatest man ever. He did and he was. Personal integrity, what a thought.

We have had three presidents who could have had many terms, one did but two did not, Ike and Washington. Both left us with warnings for the future in their final addresses, essentially and unfortunately ignored today.

Glad you liked it. There is more on there you would like.

There was no law or amendment that prevented any prez from running for a third term. Every prez stopped at two because that’s what Washington did. It wasn’t until that scoundrel FDR that anyone dare think of a third term. When he croaked it took no time at all to amend the Constitution limiting the prez to two terms. FDR even pizzed off his own party.

He thinks he did a nice thing. Brought you a little “gift” from his nocturnal adventures. :D

One night when my Westie came in looking perfectly normal, he trotted through the kitchen and dropped the big toad he had in his mouth. It was still alive and proceeded to start hopping around.

Wait till Whiskey brings you presents like that. Won’t that be fun?

That’s why I don’t put in a kitty door. He gets a full body cavity search before he is let in. :)

We have had awful weather for days on end now. Sleet, snow, wintry mix. 9 " of snow, all time record cold. We were several degrees below zero one morning. The wind chill was incredible with North winds at 10-23 mph at times. The only time we got calm wind was the morning it was well below zero. Last night the next storm started, with more snow and sleet and ice. It was about 40 deg in my house, not far from the heater. Colder away from that. But last night was warmer so it got a little warmer this morn. They have been shutting power off to millions of people here. Yesterday there were almost 4.4 million customers out. So that does not include those who live in the house with the person who is the customer. Friday morn will still be below freezing. It may warm up in the afternoon to 34 deg, and then freeze again. Then we get warmer temps Saturday with rain behind that. Water cut off in some places entirely. One home burned because the firemen had no water to pour on the fire. Several people were cold and started a charcoal grill in their apartment and got carbon monoxide poisoning, including children. Yes it has been rough.

The snow went over the top of my 7" boots, and I have never seen that here in Texas where I live. Up in the NE, yes. My little dog had trouble walking in the snow so she hopped around trying to find a place to relieve herself. The big dog has no issues with it. The little dog and cat are not happy campers with this cold at all. More crop loss, and the electricity cost has jumped through the roof. Poor planning on the part of those who are paid handsomely to deal with it. I have not left the house since Tues of last week. It is just too dangerous on the roads here. Yet the Dallas hockey team had plenty of lights going on. Seems priorities are out of whack alright. Internet and cell phone service here in my state has not been good either. So I am charging the phone here and there. I do have a radio, so I can hear a weather report if needed. Not a good situation, but thankfully I got what I had to have before it started.

I have two nephews that live near Fort Worth so I've been going back and forth with them. Their accounts are the same as yours. Fortunately for them they were Chicago-raised so temps below zero is nothing new to them...except the poor response from govts in dealing with it.
