Another interesting bird encounter to report. On Monday morning this one *slammed* into a large picture window here. It’s surprising the window held. It stayed on the deck for a long time, no doubt stunned by the impact. Then it did fly off. Seemed like another bird had been pursuing this one before it thudded into the window. The other bird was pecking at the back of its head.

My investigation leads me to think it’s a racing homer pigeon. It almost seemed like some kind of raptor, but the pigeon was the closest match I could find.

Let me just say #*$%(%dfgr3#%$%%$#@W#%Y& about all city income tax....(make that ALL income tax):nah: There now I feel better... Time to get my grocery shopping done so I don't have to do it tomorrow...
I can relate. I finished my federal and state income taxes last week. And like every year I just shake my head at the idiocy of it all.

And this is the third year now that I have done my forms by hand (versus those online tax services). Cost: 45 cents (for a stamp). I e-filed my Fed forms. TurboTax, TaxAct, etc were charging $65, $75 and more. Got tired of it and decided to do them myself. Turns out it is faster and easier to do by hand anyway. Online tax services are a scam!

Oh no :( I have been there with male cats in the past. He definitely has something he is checking out. I found that the trips get longer and longer as time goes on. I hope he comes back soon :)
That's what happens. Their excursions grow and grow. They get in a pattern...find places of interest and they stay out longer and longer. Whenever he comes back I'm going to have to break that pattern. Limit him to the outdoors maybe one or two days a week and see what happens. He wont like it but it's for his own good. I know he loves being outside and that's where he wants to be but cats who live their lives outdoors don't live long. Also might have to get a GPS tracker.

I wish I had a gps tracker on my animals! It would make things so simple! Lol
They do love being outside. I don’t blame you for cutting his time outside down. He cannot control himself and thus needs someone to do it for him. Time to enact the outdoor regulation act ;) lol You are correct; Outdoor cats do not live as long. We have coyotes, bobcats, fox, and of course people who drive too fast here....and those are all big contributors to losing their lives.

Exactly. Not to mention they get in fights (though Whiskey never does), fleas, ticks, UTI, and a whole bunch of other feline maladies and if there is no one to monitor them they die.

I've researched the trackers. I have them boiled down to two. I'm seriously considering getting one if he's gonna be an outdoor kitty. At least it gives me an idea where he is if I want to go out and get him. Not thrilled with doing that. Not one to go crawling up on people's porches but I might have to in some cases.
