I've hit my limit. I cannot take this cat anymore. He wont shut up. He wont stop throwing himself in my feet. He wont stop pacing. He's relentless and I'm done. He's gotta get out of this house. I'm ordering a tracker and throwing his azz out of here. I need my sanity back and I'm not going to let a 10 pound fur bag do this to me anymore.
CORRECTION: 11 pound fur bag. I just weighed him.

Im back amoung the living again for a while, its getting to the point where the chemo is taking its toll on my old broken body...
the harsher side effects are becoming more prevelent than before and are lasting longer. o_O:(

I got juiced friday....and then spent the weekend dealing with the nastyness of it... the reason for my not being here.

I said no more cats after the last one died a few years back. Whiskey reminds me why. It's like having an ADHD 2 year old on steroids in the house.
If you get a kitten and keep it inside you don’t have that problem.

I figgered you got KO'd by that juice session. Do you sleep thru most of it or are you awake to "enjoy" its affects?

"If" being the operative word. Sadly, Whiskey is turning 9 in a couple months so I missed the kitten train with him. He is who he is.

He should be reported to ASPCA. Throwing that cat out in the cold with nothing but a GPS, I am shocked.
He's been sleeping the last 1.5 hours. I don't dare wake him up. I like him best when he's sleeping.

Thinking the GPS is out. For starters, it requires wearing a cat collar. His previous owners said they tried putting a collar on him several times and he got it off within 24 hours every time. He wont accept a collar. Even if I get him used to a collar it really should be a breakaway collar because these damn cats get into everything and they hang themselves with their own collars. So they have to be breakaways. And I'm not gonna hook up a $130 tracker (plus $100 annual GPS fee) to him that breaks away. Now looking at making him a 100% indoor kitty. He's just gonna have to deal with it. I may kill him before then but I can give a pretty good fight myself. One thing I'm looking into is one of them big cat cages. They have all the cubbies, ramps, bed, playstuff n crap on them similar to a tree but it's a giant cage. I can put it on my deck so he can at least spend some time outside. I could even have him access the cage from a deck window using a cat flap so he can come and go when he wants. Just some thoughts I'm having. But kind of concluding he cannot be an outdoor cat anymore. Way too many consequences with that.

Your deck solution with in and out under his control is nothing short of brilliant.

Two things I know about cats:

    1) Collars are problematic for them.

    2) They are always on the wrong side of every door.

Song despised interior closed doors. She’d fuss and carry on and scratch at a door until it was opened. She didn’t necessarily want to be in the room. She’d march in, march around, march back out again. I say interior because she never did that to doors leading outside.

It might ease Whiskey a bit to know he can go out when he wants to even if it is into a limited space. And if he just howls out there because he can’t run off, you won’t hear him quite so well and he won’t be underfoot.

He might like something like that. You could probably find videos and plans if you search for CATIO or Jackson Galaxy on the YouTube. I'm surprised he's being such a jerk about staying inside. My formal feral bums, I mean boys, are thrilled to be inside and sleeping on upholstery instead of weeds and bushes.

If he is bored, the string toy you made is good. A laser pointer for laser tag is good for burning off energy as well.

I guess if you got desperate, you could get him one of those cat strollers and take him out on your morning walk around the neighborhood.

Yeah, the collar thing bothers me. Too many horror stories with those. These damn dogs n cats get their noses into everything and that collar sits on their neck just waiting to snag something. Cats are even worse than dogs always trying to crawl in tight spaces.

Thought of the various catios and even building my own. I kinda learned building my own can cost near as much and doesn’t have many advantages. Also thought (for many years) of screening in my deck. Nah! Too much screwing around. Will need a roof, inspectors, etc. Screw that. So some version of a catio with some modifications is what I’m leaning toward now. Those catios are perfect for apartment ir condo owners with balconies.

I’m thinking having 24/7 access to the outside might make it a little easier on him. Plus I may still be able to let him wander on his own a day here and a day there. Seems he builds up to those long excursions so if I turn him loose only now and again it might work.

All I know is full access to the wild blue yonder wont work and neither will living with him in this house. I’ll kill him. Maybe a catio will be the solution.

Well, I have firmly decided "no more cats for Roger". At 76 years old, I don't need the worry about what happens to 'cat' if I die, and nobody notices.

Sounds grim, but it's been a recurring thought.
