Kinda funny, you don't worry about yourself riding but it's different with the cubs. If I had a kid the worst day of my life would be the day I hand them the car keys.
The day my daughter got her driver's license was quite a day for me. She came to my office after passing the test. The office was in the same building as the licensing department, so she came with excitement undimmed by passing time. We hugged talked a minute but she was ready to get going. I walked her down to the door. She turned and looked at me with unbridled joy, so eager to use the new freedom. I just stood there and watched her walk away - skip actually. I have never been able to put words to feelings. One reason is that there were so many conflicting feelings. Happy for her but sad, the little girl not only is growing up but also growing out. And...driving, like growing out, is a perilous business.
