@Bunnykiller is right about tobacco extracts. I’d also say that Heather has never been one to tinker with a great flavor intentionally. Some vendors might mess with a good thing just for the sake of tinkering — or “improving” — their product. Never Heather. Instead, she would create another flavor! That’s why there’s 89 different flavors in the HHV lineup.
My educated guess is that an ingredient was no longer available, or some ingredient vendor changed something in the base or flavoring.
Next, because we were required by law to register ingredients and because no new products are allowed without prior FDA approval (PMTA) after 8/8/16, it would be illegal to change a single thing about a single product. Any change to any ingredient would make it a new product under FDA regulations.
Therefore, even if Heather *could* go back to the old way of making those flavors, it would be illegal for her to do so.
It’s uncertain right now whether they can even get the ingredients for current flavors.
This might be true in the last 5-7 years but before 2014 it was all over the place.
Hmmm... no there absolutely was ‘tinkering’. Tinkering has negative connotations. I wouldn’t call it tinkering but perhaps inadvertent or uncontrollable changes. After Gandalf became Legend it changed completely in flavour and then successive batches of Legend were all different to each other within the space of a year or two. Then it turned into a slightly sweet chocolatey NeT without the flavours sometime around 2014 and there was a lot of discussion about it. Serendipity had different permutations as well.
Maple Eh became the new Huntsman, huntsman lost its maple element.
the one anomaly is Dragons Fire. It never changed! I was surprised in my last order how Dragons Fire tasted the way it did several years ago. As a side note that confirms my taste buds haven’t changed over the years.
HHV is the Creed Aventus of vaping lol
There is an absolutely dedicated group of perfume lovers who chase old batches of Creed Aventus because no two batches are the same.
The flavour reviews on the forum illustrate how much the juices changed.
it might be the case that there are processes and flavours out of the control of HHV. I enquiries about the changes in the purity line around 2016 I think it was. The sales rep who responded to me said that HHV gets it flavours from a supplier and they don’t have control of those flavours.
I don’t know what that means. Don’t know if that means that they have a mixer to mix the concentrates that then HHV adds to their NETS or one of the generic brands of flavour concentrates manufactures changed their own processes.
Inawera had some changes for the worst in some of their awesome tobacco concentrates about 3 or 4 years (including their cherry tobacco concentrations) and any juice vendor using Inawera concentrates would have had distinct changes to some of their juices and would had no control in avoiding their juices changing in flavour profile.
The diketones issues also affected certain flavours as the flavour concentration houses either changed the chemistry in some of the their concentrates or added V2 lines of popular concentrates.
