Oh no! Poor Buckley!
Years ago I had a cat door on an inside door leading to my basement. My two would sit one on either side of it and prevent the other from going through. Or they would do such a mad dash and fly through it that I swear they landed in the basement without touching a single stair on the way down.
The flap came with a thin wood insert for closing it off. I’d forget to remove it and they’d get to fighting. One would dash over to escape through and smack right into it. Sorry to say, it did make me laugh!
He figured it out almost immediately. He had a cat flap across the street although this one is a bit harder to get thru. From dinner thru the night he is in out in out in out in out. He loves the heck out of it. There are always critters stirring about so that keeps his attention. He has all sorts of places he can perch and he uses them all.
