I got the batteries, and they are a tiny bit too long. This is just unbelievable. So I pulled out an old Sony flat top. I may have to use them. But it seems you have to press harder in the Reo, to get them to work, which I do not like. The Sony had been stored. So I am charging it now. It was not undercharged, so I may have to just deal with that, or just give up on it altogether once these AW give out on me. I have two left, and they have had plenty of use.

From a discussion on a vendor PACT Act forum, here's a PSA for all of us:

Vendors who register with states that they ship to must provide a list of customers (with name and address) along with every order that's been placed by those customers within the last several years. I've been hearing mostly 5 years, but states might vary on that.

In Pennsylvania, one of the vendors heard from a customer that he (or she) had been contacted by the state with a demand for all sales and tobacco excise taxes for their past purchases PLUS a $1,500 penalty assessed for neglecting to pay it in a timely fashion.

Any vendors that any of us have done business with that are now registering with our state(s) will be giving our state(s) our names and order details. In other words, your state just might contact you with a demand letter.

I do know Pennsylvania is especially zealous about this. When Amazon reached its deal to collect and pay sales taxes to states, it didn't take long for PA to come after me. I spent hours going through my old purchase invoices and then cutting the state a check for over a thousand dollars. Thankfully there was no penalty IF I responded to their letter in a timely fashion.

I'm glad I have not resided in PA for over 5 years.

When you say "vendors" are you referring specifically to vape vendors or any vendor (like Amazon)?

I don't know what to say because I'm not a REO owner. What does Pop say?

Seeing many vape vendors who submitted PMTAs (incl HHV) and spent the money to do so, they should get their costs refunded because the feds effectively ended their businesses with the mail ban. Of course that will never happen but I do smell a class action lawsuit.

Vape vendors and sales of any “tobacco products” — so basically, if the vendor wants to KEEP doing business then they have to “turn in” their customers.

I’ve heard now of it being the vendor that Washington state went after for thousands of dollars. This case was a B&M that was gleefully reporting that the customer had to pay. Why “gleefully”? Because B&M’s — instead of being outraged at the unjust taxation — is BLAMING online vape vendors for the fact that the PACT Act was passed. Because they should have been paying the taxes all along! (Of course, it’s always the customer who pays.)

Instead of blaming the guilty parties: greedy politicians and foundations that depend on cig sales for their livelihood.

Actually, I’ll pick up my rant once more for a moment. This rant is by me as an individual since technically I don’t work for HHV anymore.

I left out Big Tobacco, Big Pharma and other big players — but if we really want to find someone to be mad at, we have to go to the top and deep into the dark shadows to the Big Banks and High Financiers. Because they pull the strings of all of us all the waaaaay way back into history.

We are told who our “enemies” are or we think we’ve figured it out pretty well. But as always and ever: follow the money.

Now I might be done. :)

It just makes me so mad to see us all turn on one another. Most of the time we are wrong.

So HHV is going to continue to stay in business as a vape shop only serving local customers. No out of state customers. Does this mean they are NOT required to turn in our names or only if they want to do business in NC and CA???

This goes back to something I've always said - WE are not the colonialists/imperialists, WE are not the privileged, WE are not the ones who get all the benefits, silver spoons, money, property etc ad nauseum. It IS and always HAS been the 1% - ever since man developed from whatever man developed from.

They'll "get it" when the big fat finger starts pointing in their direction for something or another. The only question is whether it will be too late for them to do anything about it before they're scooped up for "re-education" training plus treddling a sewing machine 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And IMHO you are wrong. You are blaming the wrong party. We could vote in the “right” guys until the cows come home.

The Big Financiers own them all. One way or another they own all of us. The different parties and agendas are only “flavor varieties” to appeal to every version of us.

I respectfully disagree with assigning blame to the victims. :)

When we re-elect the same people over and over and over knowing they are crooks (and we know they are) then we deserve what we get. We stop voting for crooks the crooks stop being crooks.

That’s correct as far as HHV’s plans. That requirement is a big part of the reason that they are not going further with compliance.

Anyone who purchased e-liquid or nicotine or gear or anything else deemed a tobacco product within recent years from vendors who are still going forward with registrations (unlike HHV and others who’ve decided to stay local or close) could end up getting a demand letter. It depends on your state and how far back they go, as well as whether your state goes after vendors or customers.
