There are lots of excellent neighbors here. But I also know what it’s like to have nasty neighbors. It wasn’t fun.

Mmmmmm. Sounds delicious. Homemade pizza can be very good.

Yeah, losing good neighbors is a sad day. I do hope the new neighbors will be good. Nasty neighbors can turn paradise sour real fast.

At my place in PA, I grew to be close friends with the woman and her family across the street. Our kids grew up together. I babysat for free and their two kids spent the summer at my pool. We took trips together and were like extended family. Then after my separation, they wouldn’t let their kids come over anymore because “divorce is wrong.” She stopped speaking to me and wouldn’t even look over and wave or smile. Painful times.

The pizza really did turn out great. Gonna do it again tomorrow! I used to take the sausage out of the casing and roll it into little meatballs, then brown it. That’s fun to eat but takes too long. Browned and sliced was easier and tasted just as good.

Went to a nursery out in the sticks today. Near Angier, NC. Picked up 7 Cypress trees for cheap. About 4 foot tall. My 17-year neighbors moved the other day. So I planted the cypress between our homes as insurance in case the new neighbors are chuckleheads. Wont have to look at them this way. Cypress grow fast. Real fast. Each tree will be 30’ high x 20’ wide inside of 10 years. They’ll block the neighbors in about 3 or 4 years.

Check for bagworms in the springs. A metal bucket, a splash of gasoline, and a match after you've cleaned them from the trees will do wonders.

Gonna let Mr. Whiskers out tomorrow. I think he’ll stay close to the house and wont be out long. That’s what he did last time I kept him in the house for an extended time. I think these cats get these wacky territorial rights crap going. The longer Whisk is outside the larger his territory gets and the longer he stays out to patrol it. Now that he’s been inside the last few months his territory has been erased. He wont wander off very far.

I’m confused. I thought the whole catio ordeal was about him not going out. He vanished for a lonnnnggg time in the rain and you said “No more!”

This is how our critters get away with so much crap. Human memories are short and our resolve is kinda brittle.
