I don’t find it especially endearing. I do often dream about being in his presence back in the 1700s. How incredible that would be! To see him walking and talking. To know what he really looked like and how he sounded. His stature. The intracasies that you can only feel by being there. Portraits, while the best they could do then, just doesn’t cut it. I often think those so few photos of Abraham Lincoln are among the coolest photos ever. It makes him real. As if we are allowed to believe he really existed without having to use our faith or imaginations.

I understand the criticisms of that made up photo. But there has been so much bullpuckey stuff made up about George Washington that this phony photo seems inconsequential.
Reminds me of that oft-asked question. If you could meet any one person in history, who would it be? Of course, Jesus Christ always comes in first place. George Washington always comes in second place. :)

According to the Bible, we all will get to meet Jesus. Better as one who believes than not. Personally, it is the one thing I look forward to the most.

As for historical humans, I’d love to attend C. H. Spurgeon’s church to hear him preach. Another would be Alexander Maclaren.

As to the living, when I was young and silly, my dream was to meet Joni Mitchell. Now, it would be some of the friends I’ve made here. At least I know you’d be nice. :)

I’m hearing the Jeeps are crapola now since Fiat bought out Chrysler some 5 years ago. My Bleep is an 07. Far from a rugged automobile but it has hardly given me any trouble. That was back when Daimler owned them.

When Fiat is your savior then you are in real trouble.

In way back history there are too many for me to even think about. Recent history, Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman and George C Marshall.

Found problem on the Bleep. Cracked radiator filler neck. Part ordered. Should be here Thursday. $14 on Amazon. $85 at the dealer. Cheap freaking plastic. They could have spent $15 more and made them from an aluminum casting. Guess that would be asking too much.

    At least an easy fix.

Not really. Had to drain the radiator so I could put in the new thermostat. Drain plug impossible to get to. In order to get to the drain plug you have to take off the bumper cover. Big frontal piece held in with two dozen various screws/bolts hidden all around the thing. Plug still near impossible to get to even with the cover off. Drained coolant and got only a pint. Told me I had a leak or the level just worked it's way down over time. Filled the radiator up and as I did I saw a smallish leak out the filler neck. Sure enough, it was cracked. And of course while I have the front bumper cover off it's a good time to change a bunch of bulbs. And when you take the bumper cover off the turn signal lenses pop off so I have to either replace them for $60 or silicone them back on. Another totally absurd design. Doesn't appear I need the thermostat.

Yeah, I know very well what a bumper cover is. My hubs was a mechanic.
