There is only ONE Whiskers.
Only ONE.
Only ONE.
The neighbor’s granddaughter named him Whiskey. Naturally it is easily morphed into Whiskers. Whiskey was actually the granddaughter’s cat originally but he always lived at the neighbor’s house so they really were the owners. Whiskey had a brother they named Harley. Sadly, one of their dogs killed Harley when they were kittens. I coulda told them that was gonna happen. Duh! So they quarantined Whiskey till he got big enuf to defend himself. And he did. One of the dogs was especially nasty to him. Didn’t take long for Whiskey to tire of that crap. One day the dog went after him and Whiskey made a mess out of the dog’s face. That was the last time the dog messed with him. There is only ONE Whiskers.

The grandparents and the neighbor are the same people. They own three dogs (down to two cuz one just died) and were Whiskey's owner till the torch was passed to me. Not sure I know about Whiskey messin up another dog. Whiskey messed up the dog that just died cuz he was nasty.I got a little lost in the who’s who in this story. Was this one of the dogs owned by the grandparents or a dog owned by the neighbor whose house Whiskey lived at?
And is that the same neighbor who kinda threatened Whiskey because he messed up their dog? Now I can’t remember if it was a dog.
I blame allergies for my current brain fog.

Yes, I have many neighbors here I know (probably a dozen well and twice that many so so). Happens when you live in the same house for 17 years. Now I get it! And it just came back to me that it was a fellow feline that Whiskey fought with and that neighbor had to take their cat to the vet for stitches. Don’t know how recently that happened. But that neighbor issued a threat to Whiskey that you countered.
You got a lot of neighbors. When you say “the neighbor” it could be any one of thousands.![]()
Bleep fixed.
A $14 plastic radiator fill neck. They could have paid $15 more making it out of an alumimum casting that would never break. What all did you end up replacing?
I really hope you enjoy your retirementGood morning Army. Wednesday I had opened my mouth once too many times, and the Boss opened his mouth once too many times, and I said "The heck with this. I'll be drawing Social Security in six weeks, and I don't need this crap." and walked out.
So now I am retied from trucking. And it actually feels pretty good to sleep until sun up. I might look into a parts delivery driver for NAPA, or some piddling little thing of a part time job. No interest in working directly with the public, I've seen enough of them through the windshield.
Getting my vaccination today. All I need is a driver's license. Maybe clear off the old garden and plant a few things just to get my old hobby started again.
Have a Safe and Blessed Day![]()

WTG, you are going to be so less stressed and have so much fun with your hobbies. As you said, you can always get a part time job if you feel the need.Good morning Army. Sounds like you had it planned out. EnjoyAs it stands right now, the mortgage is paid off, with vehicles are paid off, basic necessities like property taxes and insurances, are less than half of what I would draw. I have a little money in the bank, thinking of maybe CD's for additional income, and I am sitting at a point in life where I really don't need to plan my day on what another man expects of me.
Just whatever Mamaw expects of me !
I took early retirement at 60 cause a new boss was ridiculous and I couldn't deal with her.As it stands right now, the mortgage is paid off, with vehicles are paid off, basic necessities like property taxes and insurances, are less than half of what I would draw.
