Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday. Lots of eating, the day off. Hate to say it but the merchants are ruining Xmas. The stores start getting in your face in October now.
Everyone here is complaining about that. They want Back Friday back.

The consultants who watch the retail markets and give advice to marketers give strong recommendations to start earlier and earlier. Last year and this year they really pushed to start sales early. Supply chain issues and delivery time issues being the main reasons.

It’s nuts. Used to be Black Friday was the way to kick off the holiday shopping. Now it is its own thing and everyone starts early to kick off Black Friday.

    Recipe? Sounds good!

They were fast to un-censor Cracker for me

When I googled for a recipe they were all pretty much the same.

(Improved) Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole - Spend With Pennies

    • ▢ 32 ounces frozen shredded hash browns defrosted
    • ▢ ½ cup melted butter
    • ▢ 1 10 ¼ ounce can of cream of chicken soup ( I added about 1 C Heavy Cooking Cream)
    • ▢ 1 pint sour cream ( could use yogurt instead )
    • ▢ ½ cup onion finely chopped
    • ▢ 2 cups colby cheese grated ( I used a mixed white and yellow grated that we already had and probably 3 cups worth )
    • ▢ ¼ teaspoon pepper ( I didn't use )
    • Preheat oven to 350°F.
    • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl reserving ½ cup of cheese for topping.
    • Place in a greased 9×13 casserole dish and top with reserved cheese.
    • Bake for 45-55 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

And under the, "It never ends" category....

Got the Bleep up on jackstands to inspect the front end. Both struts roached! The car is riding on springs only. Tie rods and sway bar end links are roached! Front tires flopping around. Gotta change them out. Haven't inspected the back yet but really don't need to cuz I'm changing out those struts too whether they need it or not. Also will put new brake pads n rotors all around. Like I say, it never ends.

Not good, General. Do you have a garage and if so, is it heated? I hope you answer "yes" to both.

I have a gravel drive, I do oil, grease etc in late September, no changes for me in January.

Yes, I have a garage. Heated, no. But I could if I wanted. I have a propane heater but it sucks the fuel. Also have some electric oil heaters if I wanted to go that route We'll see. We get enuf halfway warm days here so it's not so bad.
