Evening..... Had some rain today while I was in Ashland KY.... Day was longer than I wanted. My ceiling fan pull light switch is broken. Had to remove the bulbs because it won't turn off. So I either try to replace the switch or buy a new ceiling fan. I'll have to think about. It's been running 24/7 for 15 years.
Sitting in dentist office waiting to be called. First time at new dentist. Just got done filling out 43,791 forms. Ho hum. Might go for an old man nap.
Evening.... Got home at 6:40. At 7:20 the yard was mowed and off the weekend todo list... Just one more day....
So far so good. Four dentists, large office. Saw the doc for 10 mins at most. Seemed OK. Being the first visit the assistant was with me for better part of two hours doing all the xrays, photos, cleaning, etc. She was very good. Best I ever had. She was a bit older so her experience was evident. Nice lady but she didn't mollycoddle which I appreciate. She did her work and was very pleasant. Southern lady. Had to be native. Doc says he needs to replace a crown. Showing decay underneath. Saw the xray and there's a void near the gum line. That's a 40-year old gold crown so I guess I got my money's worth out of that one. They do their own crowns there so it will be a one-visit procedure. They seem expensive though Quoting $2,042 for the Zirconia crown work and possibly another $396 if buildup is required. That seems high to me unless that's what crowns are going for these days.
I always felt like office staff was as important, if not more important, than the doc. My dentist back east was really pleasant and quite good. His office manager who worked the front desk was not so nice. One day she’d be excessively “pleasant” and another she’d be mean and rude. I knew others who went to him, and it wasn’t just me. He lost my business over her. Later his wife took a more active role, but I heard she was just as bad.
He did 3 crowns for me at around $2500. But I was self-pay, so he may have charged me the amount the insurance company would have actually paid him regardless of how much he billed.
Oh yeah, that would be a show stopper. Had a similar experience. Dentist was good but the administration was so bad that it wasn’t worth going there. Kind of a shame cuz they’re only 6/10ths of a mile away.

I don't know a lot about crown materials-the zirconia you mentioned I have no idea-but 2k is high for a crown. I think ours are around $1000 but we send them to a lab for creation and it's a 2 appointment, 3 weeks apart, procedure.

Afternoon.... Headed to the store at 11:00 and got back at 1:00. Skipped PetSmart this week and I can skip one of the other stores next week. Took about 2 1/2 hours to get the AT&T Fiber internet installed. Installer was here right at 8:00. He was very good. Did a great job and answered all my questions about the modem. And because I had to move stuff away from the wall I had to clean a little. Things are back in place now. The Motorola modem and Linksy router have been moved to the closet. I'll give this a week before I call and cancel the other internet.
I was paying $56 for 250mb download (lucky to get 200mb down) and upload less than 20mb. My bill will be about $60 for 300mb download and upload. I've run some speed test on the PC and TV. So far it's reaching 350+ both ways. TV and PC are both responding faster. I access the modem with an app on my phone. Got the password changed to something I can remember. (I hope) So my phone is now connected.

Hello friends. About three weeks ago I was helping an old timer, closing off his porch. Walls, windows, siding, barn door. My right knee flared, and has not been well since.
Garden has burned up. Mamaw, as is her case, is not sympathetic. Men are supposed to work, not lie on the couch with one leg iced and elevated.
Last night I watched "Bill W." on Amazon. Made for an interesting hour and a half, at least for me.

Hope that heals up soon for you. Those random flare ups are not fun at all, I know. It’s hard when the mind is willing to take on projects and the body goes along with it for a bit then suddenly says, “Nope. We’re done now.”
