Nice! Is that stump I see on the lawn the oak you speak of?
That’s actually a pile of the wood chip mulch! The tree is at the corner of the property left of the middle of the pic. Two oaks were trimmed heavily. They are very old trees and hadn’t been trimmed in a long, long time. I love that the trimmings go to good use in the garden. The chips are too recent to use around the plants, but are perfect ground cover to keep the weeds down.

I had no idea either. Makes me think twice about enrolling. The article said some states are aggressive about recovering funds, others don’t do it, instead ignoring the requirement.
Medicare and Medicaide are two different things- What’s the difference between Medicare and Medicaid? Enrolling in Medicare is not "recoverable" as far as I can see-may be a good reason to use an independent agent for first time enrolling-to ask questions.

I have a Medicare webinar coming soon. It’s actually my wife’s employer who will explain the retirement benefits. They actually pay for a Medicare Advantage plan (part c) for both of us. And it appears it’s a pretty good plan adding vision, hearing, and dental along with part d drug plan. I reviewed it last Fall and had a ton of questions that I since forgot. So I’ll have to dive into it again.

Yes, there are good Advantage plans but like anything else they have a cost if you have to pay for it. It really does depend on the individual and their circumstances.
Before I switched to the Advantage plan, I was paying almost 30 per month with much less coverage/benefits. With Advantage/Humana, I don't pay any monthly fee and have way more benefits. I recently received a debit card from them for 750.00 that I can use toward any prescriptions, vision or dental that is above my covered plan.

Excellent deal. Pays to compare. Big time!

David, not sure if you use cordless Bauer tools from Harbor Freight but they have a deal if you buy a 5A battery for $65 you get a free cordless tool. You pick from 1 of 13 tools. Includes drills, saws, grinders, impacts, etc. I got a 1-gallon cordless garden sprayer.

Do you have any of the traditional Medicare or just the Advantage/Humana.? From what I read I'd be looking at $200+ for the different parts of Medicare. I also checked with my Benefits department about what happens to my company insurance if I sign up now. My company insurance will stay as my primary coverage with no changes until I retire.

Parts A and B are required to be able to use Medicare Advantage plans/supplements if that is your question

I have medicare A & B as well as the Humana advantage. I don't pay any monthly fees, only small copays on some things and others are free (like regular preventative stuff).

I get 3 deep cleanings per year and I think 1 xray per year for free. I pay for 1 deep cleaning but if I only needed regular cleanings 2x per year those are covered.

I get free eye exam and something toward glasses but it is actually cheaper to get the deals at Americas's Best for those things. They did cover most of my eye surgeries (both eyes) but I saw where Vanderbilt dropped Humana so I got it just in time. A lot depends on what takes Humana in your area or whatever org you go with.

Forgot to say, the 750.00 debit card pays for the extra cleaning and all of the vision stuff (glasses, etc).

Well, it's official. A ProVari, used twice a year, will outlast a REOS used all day every day over the same time frame.
Hey Bronze, did Smoevesto ever come up with a top feed tank ?
Hey Pop. So I take it your Reo's are wearing down. Yes, Svoemesto makes the Prime and Mini V3 that are top fills. I like both of them. The Prime has an exterior air adjustment. The Mini V3 has a screw under the 510 connection. I think the Prime has a little larger capacity. They might offer an extension for that Prime to increase capacity. I think they have more beautification accessories for the Prime too. I don't know the status of Svoemesto anymore...what they make, what they sell, etc.. Been a long time since I visited them or their authorized dealers. There's always Fastech clones if SM doesn't work out.

    How is Mamaw doing?

Sometimes I find her standing out on the deck, just staring out across the yard for 15 minutes or so.
Chemo isn't helping. Her stamina is fading, and now she's on oxygen.
All I can do is try to help out around the house and make life a little easier for her.
