Looking great Bridget! You appear to be doing well since losing Big D .
Not much new here in Arizona. I retired a year ago last March, enjoying retirement with my soul mate of 49 plus years.
Congrats on both! My BF is retired (early). I'm envious of course but I think I'd get bored if I were at home all the time. Still building retirement funds and health insurance is a must so.. I keep going. I don't hate my job so that helps.

Yep, sock it away kid. 63 arrives very fast. Your kids are grown so time to really pack it in.

They are doing well! Oldest and his wife just bought a house and 20 acres in the middle of nowhere. He's the one that has the sweet baby girl. Youngest bought a fixer upper and man has it kept him busy. It's been one thing after another with that little house, but he's learned a lot in the process. He has a great GF, she's an RN. Ironic that both boys have RNs as wife/GF.
Both have great jobs, Oldest does inspection for a large gas company, Youngest is a lineman for a major electric company.
I moved to a bigger city (population about 50,000) and man, I absolutely love being close to stores, gyms, etc. I don't miss country life and I thought I would. Being able to sit outside without mosquitos, ticks etc is soooo nice.
I saw your veggies? a couple pages back. What else are you up to?

Afternoon... In the 80s all week. Got the yard mowed. The breeze helped but it was still hot.. The estimate for my truck is about $3800. Could go up if they find more damage when they start the repair work. I'll get a call when they get the parts to set up when to take it in. So the process is started...

Bought a mattress over the 4th. Bunch of big sales going on but I bought it cuz I finally had enough of my old one. Besides, I never bought into those BS “sales”. Here’s an example:

My mattress was regularly priced at $1,200 and on sale for $550. Right there, does anyone believe that garbage? So the sale ended yesterday so this morning I looked up that mattress to see what the real price was. $570 (with the same $1,200 figure still crossed out). So their “big” July 4th sale saved me a measly $20. Big damn deal! Not surprised one iota either. Retailers are among the most dishonest people there are.

A week or two for the parts they ordered. Will set up when it goes in at that time. Then I'll let State Farm know and they'll have a rental there for me. Repair time depends on if they find more wrong and have to get more parts. They don't know if the fender can be fixed until they take it apart..

Awww. That’s all so good to hear. And I’m glad you’re loving city life! It’s a big change. Country living has a lot going for it, but… yeah… the bugs are annoying.

I’m permanently moved to SoCal. We still have the place in Vegas but will probably sell it sometime in the next year or so. I sold my guitars last year since my hands hurt too much to play anymore. Now it’s down to gardening, photography and work. Picked up some new clients from Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, as well as Napa Valley and Orange County. Keeps things interesting!

Can’t disagree there. The psychology of marketing includes a lot of downright evil aspects. I don’t practice that stuff. I’m fortunate to not be required to. It’s a blessing to work with good people providing worthwhile products or services.

There must be a lot of suckers out there for them to keep deceiving us. If there weren't, they'd stop doing it.

Saw a "man on the street" segment questioning beach goers. OMG, these people are clueless. Question: When did we declare our independence? Answer: 1992. Who was our first president? Answer: George Bush. Who was the General that won the Revolutionary War? Answer: General Mills. These people were dead serious. So embarrassing!

Too true. Along with peacocks and enormous squirrels. This year I planted some flowers in the garden along with the veggies. Gardeners call them “trap crops” because bugs love them more than they do the veggies.

Today my cut resistant sleeves arrived. That’s to block the buffalo gnats that feed on me when I’m in the garden in the evening. Nasty little jerks!

Yeah, but you should see their video game scores and the number of followers they have on Tik Tok.

Afternoon... Did some things in the yard today.. And at 90 it was hot. Cleaned up a couple things and treated for bugs. Around the house and the yard. With the rain and heat it's been really bad for bugs.

Same here. A couple days ago I treated for Argentinian ants that rule this area. They are everywhere. But we’ve managed to keep them out of the house the past couple of summers. All food cleaned up and sealed in containers at all times in the kitchen and pantry. The heat outside and the faucets in the house lure them inside. Ugh!
