I'm having one of those days when nothing tastes good..time to take my own advice and load up a nice strong mint. I'll have to see if I have any Blade left in my sample. Better get off the pc and start working on the paperwork or it won't get done. Everyone have a great evening...
Me too! Its even worse when you are stuck in traffic. Part of it was in the stupid tunnel. ARGH! The lion is claustrophobic (in addition to OCD and ADHD) and I hate even going through that thing at 60 MPH. Crawling through at 5 MPH....GRRRRRR.
I just finished some PB from early Dec. It was good, and now it's gone. I have some that's a week old now. It's so different.
Sniff..sniff...
I know, I'm a little misty here too...
I'm claustrophobic too, can't even be in my garage without the door open. I'm panicky just thinking about it.
I love driving. I have all my life. Whether it be on a Motorbike or in a car. There are days that I feel like I can drive forever..
One such day was back in 2002. A friend and I were on the last leg of a week long 6500 km trek through Eastern Canada. We started in Toronto, and over the next 5 days drove through Monthreal, Quebec city, New Brunswick, Cape Breton and then ended up in Nova Scotia. The plan was to go back the scenic route over the next couple days through Maine and spend the night around the Finger lakes area. Well, we didn't stop. We left from Halifax, Nova Scotia after breakfast and drove non-stop to Toronto, a distance of around 1800kms (1125miles) in around 16 or 17 hours.
This was the route more or less: Halifax, NS to Toronto, ON - Google Maps
I've done a number of long rides and drives in my life both before and after that one, but never one as long as that one at one stretch.
It was a heck of trip!!
How do you spend time in an OR with a bunch of people without getting claustrophobic? Is it the heat of the moment that quells that fear? If so, call upon that sensation when you feel panicked.. pretend you're delivering a baby, or a softball!

That sounds like fun Dusty. Never been that way...close (About 10 miles from Quebec about five hours straight north of Toronto).
When I got out of high school, I took a job pumping gas. I made a friend. He was a mechanic and about 10 years older than me. But we hit it off. We'd hop in his 75 Grand Prix loaded up with things that, say, mess your mind up. That's what people did in the 70's...sorry. We'd go out in the farmlands with the intention of getting lost on purpose. We'd drive for hours laughing our heads off. One night, we passed this old hound walking along a desolate farm road. Didn't make much of it. We continued on...no idea where in the world we were. About four hours later, we passed that exact same hound again. All we did for four hours is go in a giant circle. Those were the days. Could never do that today. But I did burn up a tank of gas about a month or so ago. Went to the store to pick up some groceries. Headed home and instead of turning in my neighborhood, I just said screw it and kept going down the road. Before I knew it, I had driven some 260 miles across northern NC. Good way to get in some thinkin'.![]()
Chak was in Phoenix?
he was. He did remarkably well with very minimal tearing.
It is an awesome way to get some thinking done, you are correct. Early 2000's, I used to load up my Jimmy with dog, peanuts, water, snacks, food for doggie, sleeping bag and blanket and we'd head out for the weekend. I'd pick a road and we'd drive .. hours on end taking breaks every now and again. Seen some lovely lakes and countryside north of Toronto. Furthest we made it was Sudbury, normally a 4 hour drive, but 8 -9 hours taking the scenic routes before calling a stop and camping for the night. Turn round and head back on Sunday.
I really miss my alone time, sometimes..![]()
Sudbury...I wasn't too far from there. Northeast an hour or so...closer to New Liskeard. Evelyn Lake.
