Been messing with the laptop awhile now and I still feel the same.

Windows 8 sucks! Can't find files cant find a place to type in a web address no home page no start fukction no windows explorer no nothin'. It sucks!

Finally found the desktop. Trying to find windows explorer or whatever they call it now. Meanwhile it says it is configuring windows features and it is moving like a snail.

OK, found explorer. Now, where do I find the programs. I thought I installed my antivirus but I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about that and can't find where the programs are listed.

Right click anywhere on the "Start" screen and then click on the "All Apps" button on the bottom right of the screen.

I'm SO glad I have an iMac. Say what you want about Apple and their pricing, etc., but the Mac's just work. And simply. Apple knows a little something about the user interface.

In my position, the extra money for an iMac is less important to me than my patience and sanity.

and yeah pappy I prefer the ease of my mac.. It might be freaking ancient now but it works even with the fist imprints here and there..

I buy all my computers from TigerDirect. When I bought my new desktop they gave me the option of purchasing Office for $119. Like Rich, I purchased mine from my company for $15. Did they give you the option of purchasing it? $100/month is highway robbery!

Sure can. And it even has a tile to use in windows 8 mode. Although I only use it the "traditional" way of double clicking on the icon from the desktop. Also, pick up a wireless usb laptop mouse if the touchpad isn't doing it for you.

Well, I will take advantage of that. Dust and GT have been helping too. This is my first crack at a laptop. They can have this lousy touchpad. April told me to get a mouse too. Consider it done as soon as I get to BB tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll try downloading Chrome tonight. IE is just horrible! Slow as molasses. Thanks Chimps.

I just read that Adobe is going to this business model with Photoshop. No more purchasing it for the paltry sum of $700. You now have to rent it from them. What a crock.

The only good news is that nature abhors a vacuum. There are plenty of people like me who will NOT (no how, no way) support that business model. Someone else will rush in with a competitive product to fill the void.
