So I log in for the first time in months and who should I see but Sooperdrave.... the only other male (to my recollection).
I miss hanging out here. Life has been great. We had to shut down our home (for women in recovery) for a number of reasons but it turns out the county Sheriffs Dept wouldn't allow us to be Chaplain/volunteers and also receive recovering women into our home. My wife is still a lead chaplain and I'm mentoring mentors (training and counseling) for new inmates released... male and female. Most of our work is with inmates who are in drug/alcohol recovery since 80% of their offenses are drug related. We've moved to a much smaller home since we don't have half a dozen women living with us.
Many thanks to you all and especially LK for your ongoing support through the years.

The babies are doing great. We had a traumatic weekend because I had to take the babies out and put them in a new nest. Since it was supposed to just be a couple of very friendly guys their "nest" was not big enough for babies. Needless to say Mom was NOT happy and wouldn't go near the new house. But once the babies woke up and starting screeching she finally went in and started feeding them. Now the little runt that was buried at the bottom is almost as big as the others and they are all doing fine. I'll try to get some pictures.

Hy!!! good to hear from you. I was just thinking about you the other day. I'm glad your still doing what your doing. Your work is SO important. It's obscene the percentage of people incarcerated whose lives have been ruined by drugs. Most start very young so never learn how to become a proper citizen of society. But they are not bad people. I'm sure they are grateful you are in the world too.

ok ready for this......I took this photo yesterday so thats what...two weeks? And Katya that's the best I could do this year for the Goldfinches...they were REALLY skittish.

I would have signed up- but i didn't see the thread until you had all of the beta testers. It's also good to have new people involved.

Katya only stops by ECF a couple of times a week- if that.

Sorry--snowed under. Kids, work, house... I banned myself from ECF in order to survive in RW.

Lori! Love the babies! And the poster! We had a hummingbird nest in the usual place this spring, like every year, but for some reason, mama hummer flew away and abandoned an unhatched egg... Not sure what happened. Sad.
