I got this at Whole Foods on sale for $6. Its just glycerin and vanilla extract with a little water.
Someone else mentioned this early in the thread, so I thought why not? My impressions are very similar to the previous poster.

The flavor is very mild, but because it is essentially vanilla flavored glycerin (VFG), you can simply use it as you would VG to dilute high-nic juice. I haven't but I would guess you could vape it straight. I originally made a 40% VFG juice with 35 mg VG unflavored. Very smooth, thick vapor, more of a lush sweet feeling than obvious vanilla flavor. Mixed in a little butter flavor and a touch of praline. Now THAT is nice!! The VFG adds a very pleasant sweet base to the other flavors.

At $6 for about 56 mL it isn't outrageously expensive, and it does bring a richness to other compatible flavors. It isn't what I would call the holy grail, but for something I just picked up from Whole Foods, its very useful.

That was me Kurt who you saw trying the Frontier--and it will do in a pinch---not bad and not overpriced!!!

I love vanilla, too. I tried the totally wicked vanilla, and it tastes horrible. I have no idea whether they use Lorann's or not, but I don't recommend it. Ironically, the Blu flavor carts vanilla was a really nice flavor, but I moved on from Blu awhile ago.

I've recently ordered some Fairie's Finest vanilla from DIY smoke shack, but it hasn't come in yet. I think it is a natural vanilla extract. Has anyone tried this yet? Sorry of I missed it somewhere in this thread...thanks!

I love vanilla and have been searching for a good one...... Have tried most of them with no avail...... Somebody this week recommended "Dawns"...... Now I am having difficulty finding Dawns..... When I do am going to give her a try.......

That's the lady at DIY smoke shack. Just google it. She has gotten rave reviews, and is totally backed up with orders. I haven't gotten my stuff from her yet, but eagerly awaiting.

Grouch--there is not even any comparison from one to the other. That is all I can say.

Well I just have been on the Capella site and vanilla custard is listed as a new flavor of theirs. I thought it was supposed to be exclusive to happy vapor?
But certainly listed now and only $5.95. They also have a holiday discount code...HOLIDAY2009 that takes another 30% off.
Maybe they got smart and thought they would release to all.

They also have some other new ones, Bannana Split and Peaches and cream. I am curious to try these now. Anyone try them yet?

Vanilla custard is amazing. Just ordered 2 bottles. I hope they are identical.

I got some capella vanilla custard, as well as their caramel. the van custard is quite good, strong and sort of like a baked vanilla with a touch of a peppery edge, so I kept it at 10% in a VG juice:

I made a 6 mL 18 mg VG-only recipe. Warning: this juice is RICH!

Kurt's Decadent Vanilla (a work in progress):

3.1 mL vtvapor 35 mg unflavored VG liquid
2.3 mL Frontier Alcohol-free Vanilla Flavor (just VG and nat vanilla)
0.6 mL Capella Vanilla Custard
3 drops Capella Caramel Flavor
6 drops 100 proof vodka

The caramel helps sweeten and bring out the vanilla more. The Frontiers van is very quiet and background, even I'm using it straight, but it adds a lushness to this vape that is just scrumptious. Add more caramel, and it goes into a creme brulee direction. I'm betting these will get better as they sit a few days, and let the flavors get to know each other.

The capella flavors are an excellent value, especially if you take advantage of sales (I think theirs is still going on). I've tried several, and they are all convincing. the double chocolate is very much dark chocolate, and far superior to lorann choc. Milk choc toffee is very much heath bar. All the ones I tried are quite concentrated, and will likely only require 10% or less for a juice. Thevan custard in particular seems to be a less-is-more flavor, needing room to expand, and 5 % might work even better in this recipe...but I'm gonna enjoy this one first.

How does one store capella or lorann flavors to preserve them? Fridge?

BTW the dropper bottles are good for containing juice after they are used up, unlike the lorann bottle/jars, which get to the bottom too quickly and are not good for anything that I can think of.

As I am vaping this, the only thing I can think of that would make it better is a little cream flavor, but I've not heard of good ones.

I gathered from their website that it IS capella vanilla custard. Excellent flavor but Capellas themselves are having a big sale to the end of the month...if anything is left. :D

Krut--I was told by Happy Vapor that his Vanilla Custrad was made exclusively by Cappella for him? So you might want to check to make sure that is the case?

Hmm. I'm just seeing Capella vanilla custard sold as is, either in the original 13 mL bottle or they make up 3 mL bottles. Nothing stated about it being a custom flavor exclusive to HV. The "Happy's Choice" label just seems to mean that it is one of their favorite flavors.

Canadian Source for Electronic Cigarette E Liquid DIY Concentrated Flavourings (LorAnn, Capella, FlavourArt)

But I have not bought from HV, or spoken with them, so perhaps you are correct.

Ah, I see! Thanks for clarifying, Sun! But I'm going to leave that to someone else for now. I think I've spent enough on flavors for a while, and these Capellas I have now look like they will last a long time.

Have you tried the exclusive HV vanilla custard? Anyone?

Kurt--that is why I renamed this thread--it is by far the best vanilla I have ever had---I started this thread back in January!!

Oh...right...the thread title part...:oops:...*cough*...I knew that...really, I did...teach me to search for vanilla and then just jump right in......

100 hour work weeks...they do take their toll. Had I been paying attention I would have ordered some along with some DIY tools. As it is, I have so many little 3 and 6 mL bottles with various recipe attempts and blends that I feel I need to vape them before getting more flavors, otherwise they will go to waste. Its like buying an entire dinner buffet. Lots of fun making them and trying them, but jeez, I could probably vape for a month without dipping into the unflavored at all...probably should...:D
