Wegster--the big day will be May 30th--that should be just about the right amount of time to take in the flavor needed. If this does make a good flavor, then it is one of the cheapest and easiest e-liquids to make-----I tested it a couple of weeks ago and it was almost there and lacked a little sweatness--so with the extra time, I think it should do the trick and I will report on May 30th---Thanks--Sun

Thanks. I just picked up an 'assortment' of vanillas, from pre-mixed juice to extracts and some beans. Will post back if anything comes up promising. :)

I'm going to go ahead and ask, hoping you don't mind me bringing this thread back from the grave. How did your vanilla experiment go?!

Well, if you like a very "earthy" vanilla flavor--it worked out very well. It is not too overpowering and is not sweet at all. I have been vaping it on and off for about a week now and the flavor kind of grows on me better and better all the time but it is not the vanilla I am looking for.

If you are looking for a true sweet vanilla---this in and of itelf will not make the grade. I am playing with some Lorann flavors to add to it to try to sweeten it up a bit. So was it worth a try---yes. Is it a winner? For vanilla--no. Will I vape it---yes as I like getting away from the sweet stuff and this flavor is good, but hard to explain. My quest for a true vanilla continues. -----------Sun

    @sun

Arggh. Hmm, this was the beans in alcohol, right?

Do you think using mostly VG in the mix would sweeten it up enough?

Wegster--no--I just used VG--cut it just to thin it out with a little Vodka. Was really hoping for better results--but the taste is not bad--it just is not vanilla as you and I know it------Sun

So can we use wiltons vanilla extract or not, I read the whole post all at once and I just want to know what the op wanted, can pure vanilla extract be used? Has anyone said they used it and then just dropped off the boards for good? (read "died") What was the deal with the panic attacks, I want more info on that too. I have serious ones and am on meds and still having problems, so that is a huge concern for me. I think I'm just confused on too much info at one time what with all the homemade and all. I don't want to make any, I just want to go to JoAnns and buy the wiltons and be able to use it. I'm lazy and impatient:oops:

Well I have tried many methods for a good vanilla vape, and I have found that the clear vanilla from wiltons has a chemical smell to it and was not very good. The Tahitian and the Madagascar Vanillia from Loranns both are too dark and have a 35%+ alcohol content so it does not smell very strong of vanillia.
The Clear Vanilla from Loranns has the best smell and flavor to it. I used a little bit of Vanilla Butter nut from Loranns with the Lorann clear vanillia and IMO is the best flavor I have found so far.

Is there actually something WRONG with using Wilton's Vanilla - I mean with the ingredients? I have some and it does have phosphoric acid in the ingredients. I am getting myself so weirded out with what is really safe. I'm also using Wilton's glycerine on the advice of another forum, then I read that it might not be safe. I'm super new to this so my question is - is any of this stuff actually dangerous or are we just talking preference?

No problems with it that I know of, just preference I suppose the wiltons to me is very weak and is to diluted to effect a good flavor with out watering down the ejuice. I know a lot of people that use it with no ill effect, so dont get in a tizzy. IMO I just think the Loranns combo I idicated is the best flavor.

    Breath.... Breath....

    Now vape... :)

Seeing as how these are listed separate from their normal "candy" flavorings, how do they compare in strength to the Lorann flavorings most of us use?

Also, would you say either of those two are pretty good on their own (or are close to pre-made vanilla juice), or do you pretty much need both?

They are all weak or taste like alcohol. I am still waiting to find out what the commercal vendors are using. It has been a long wait for sure.

Have you tried Dan's suggestions (quoted in above post)? I ask because I am a big fan of Vanilla too and would love to know the best way to achieve it without going through the process of elimination that those before me have already done. :)

Kevin --I can tell you I was not impressed at all. Furthermore, you are just as good with other Vanilla extracts as with Lorann's.

I actually found, quite by accident, that equal drops of vanilla and coconut produce a very sweet and strong taste of vanilla - with only the slightest if even noticeable taste of the coconut!! My wife and I Really love it. It is our main vape actually for our no-nic mix I make.

Odd, but it really seems to work - oh and that is with VG + a tiny amount of DW - I'd say 2% even. No PG. (nothing aginst it - just the recipe)

    Take care,
    - Hap

That's a bit discouraging. I'll admit, so far my only attempt at vanilla was a bottle of Wilton's vanilla that I saw when I went to buy Wilton's Glycerin so I figured I'd try it. I agree with Dan's "chemical" taste, and overall it wasn't that great. After that is when I saw this thread and realized it was apparently a tough flavor to nail down so I figured I'd see what you all come up with rather than go out and buy every vanilla flavoring I see.

    Are those both Lorann's?

Kevin--I am still on the hunt and it has been over a year now. Really wish I knew what the commercial e-liquid manufactures used.
