That's exactly right Yonjuro!

If I wasn't happy with my Hussar I wouldn't care if they went out of business but since its one of my 2 favorite rta's I was concerned that they went OOB; that is why I started that thread. I respect that forum member too but he is not infallible (none of us are) so I can question his statements- fortunately he turned out to be right. The metal is subpar and the "bad taste" comment in my mouth was a euphemism, I didn't mean it literally; infact I get slightly better flavour from my Hussar than even my skyline.

It was all constructive criticism and concern for one of my favorite RTA's and it's maker
Here are my critiques I told Basili about the skyline- I'm not happy it's only 4ml capacity, should have been 5ml. No Ultem tank option.

Yes I understand what you meant by 'bad taste'

You are of course welcome to make any comments on any threads - I am yet to find an atty that is perfect in all aspects. However, starting a thread stating that Hussar have closed down was uninformed at best. Thankfully a moderator closed your thread down.

FWIW ESG have had ultem tank prototypes for the Skyline for sometime now that are about to go into production. The steel with small ultem window looks stunning.

Where did you see photos of the steel/ultem prototype?

I never got the obsession with ultem, imo it looks awful. Back in the 80's we had some kitchen contraptions made out of the stuff...actually a lot of things were back then but they stopped, I'm assuming bc it looks like a pisstain.

Btw can anyone show me a picture of a Tilemahos deck with a spaced TC build? I'm pretty sure I'm doing this right but want to make sure... I'm borrowing one for a bit, to see if I like it but the rba side looks to be designed for contact coils, the springomizer fits spaced coils ofc but all of mine have been extremely inconsistent. Like all over the place, too bad to ignore it.

Only tried on DNA boards btw.

I received some awesome vapemail today!

Not quite an RTA, but a hybrid RTDA so close enough for this thread me thinks ;-)

Hey guys would you be willing to post some pictures of how you build and wick your Hussar? I'm just curious how everyone else is doing it. I get great flavor from mine but my wick is only lasting about a day before the flavor goes. I use pretty gunky juice but it seems this is only a recent occurrence because I've been using the same juice since I got the Hussar and my Wicks used to last almost 4 days. Now the wick seems to blacken very quickly where it wouldn't even darken after 3 to 4 days of use with a very gunky juice. I was pretty astonished by this but no more.

I put this cotton in a couple of hours ago and already one side of the cotton is dark brown and the other side is fine. I don't know why this is happening. The top of my coil is pretty much lined up with the top of the posts.

I can't think of a reason that that your wicking or atty is contributing to the gunking - I can only think that it is this particular juice.

Here are a couple of pics of my wicking

The darekening on one side is just because it is wicking unevenly, probably a bit more restricted on the right channel...nothing like a really dark gunky juice to show that up!!

Thank you for the feedback. I see that you leave some channels on either side of your cotton rather than filling up the entire wick chamber. Do you find that it helps with wicking or is it just something you've always done?

That makes sense because I wicked it tighter than I usually do this time around and it seems to be more consistent on both sides now. Thank you

I generally focus the cotton over the juice hole, sometimes I fan it a bit, but the key is to only have the cotton lightly touching the well, not down the juice hole.

But I think Steve's solution is the best for your issue :)

I'm glad I found this thread... I have only recently dived into High End RTA's in search of the perfect vape and I must say it's been and interesting exercise. I bought a Skyline, Hussar, Pico, Sherman and Hurricane V2.

The Skyline and Hussar stand out in the crowd for me and they are both outstanding RTA's! It's been a long time since I have been in a real happy place with vaping...

I love the idea it's so big for juice capacity (especially with the fat tank on it's way) but... it's too much tank for me and needs huge 4mm coils and high wattage... not really my style of vape and the vape I get at 26 watts from my single coils in my Skyline and Hussar are just so perfect for me.
