Yeah imo the O ring at the pin is not really a very good solution, then you've got tall this juice filling up the thing until it causes problems... something needs to be done to keep the juice from getting there in the first place... It's got to be either the O ring in the collar or the one for the deck. Unfortunately I don't have any spares for either and they're not available anymore, I might just order a clone and cannibalize it for o rings and maybe see if the clone pin is any better, or better yet somehow find out the size I need.I had same problem but I fixed it with 2 o'rings that I stashed at the lower end of positive pin. Now no more leaking.
But I still have problems with juice getting trapped inside positive pin. After cleaning and rebuilding it's not a problem, but after few days or if deck gets flooded too much I can hear entrapped juice/condensate evaporating after releasing the fire button. This is especially noticeable if I MTL as legs don't get hot enough to dry the hole. Usually at this time resistance changes and if I'm not careful cotton gets burned and I have to rewick. When I thoroughly clean the Rose 3 dense sticky residue is seen on positive pin that needs soaking and cleaning with a toothbrush.
I have seen some people put cotton on the deck making some kind of bed for trapping juice/condensate, some adjust JFC so the deck can dry. I figured it's best to leave tank turned upside down overnight and to be careful with juice flow. With this method I can vape 4-5 tanks without problems.
With all this problems, Rose is still my favorite tank. Taifun GT3 needs much less maintenance, taste and airflow smoothness are in the same ball park, and I love when I don't have to drip juice to refill but just pore it directly from the bottle. But still, the feel of Rose is much better. It's like comparing Italian Alfa Romeo 159 to German VW Passat. On paper Passat is better and more reliable car, but when I can choose I always drive Alfa.![]()
