So here's a weird thing... My gf put her cloud one permanently out of commission, until I can try to find some replacement parts, so I give her the skyline, put it on her dani box and the resistance is all over the place, down/up, TC is horribly innacurate... but tried the thing on my dna250 beater that I use every day and it's normal, works fine. Same w/ any of my other dna's.

What gives? It's usually rock solid, can't think of anything other than we haven't used the dicodes in a while, she's been using this old cc zero that I upgraded to dna60 but nothing happened to it, it's just been sitting on a shelf. My hussar seems a bit more stable on it but it's still moving too much & vaping extra hot in TC.

T for Texas!
The new Merkava arrived. Its a v5!
First impressions:
1. Still some machine oil, at least the taste is there even after i cleaned it but no biggie.
2. the machining is very good indeed. The chimney thread is a bit crunchy but the threading is quite fine and im sure it will wear in.
3. looks cute in it's natural xvostick environment!
4. The deck is really cool but forgot to take a pic...will do it next time!
5. the af reducers are really good. The 1.4mm is a tight draw even for me so might try the 1.7 mm next time. Have a 27g NiFe48 in there and its a wee bit warm but nice nonetheless!
6. Gap between the top cap and the tank is a bit OCD-inducing but I'll live with it.
7. The bayonet top fill is genius!

So far (ie about 20 minutes) i really like it. I liked the v1 but they have solved all of the issues with that and this is now a very, very good RTA!!!! Well done Chels and the crew!!!!

@TheotherSteveS, to get the AF reducers is this the correct option (nozzle insertions):

Based on your upcoming review this one is on my short list :)

Is the JFC by friction only or are there "tabs" that are on the drip tip. Hard to tell.

Those are the af reducers indeed!
The only issue I have with it is the JFK control. It is friction only and have had some probs getting it to turn with the DTs I have so beware. Otherwise it is very good!!

ps. get a spare tank or two while you are there!

Thanks!! i was hoping it was the tab style instead of the friction style, which I've had issue w on other atties.

to be honest, it really is an issue on the unit i have and certainly detracts from trhe overall experience in that refilling is now a pita. Vape wise it is excellent, easy to build etc but the jf regulation on this one is a step back from the v1 i had for reasons i don't understand at present.

Seriously? I would also like more info on this, as I love my v1 Merkava, and was also looking at grabbing the v2...

Also, don't shoot me but I wanted a skyline so bad I got the coppervape one a little while ago.... holy smokes, I can't wait to try the real one because this clone is easier to build, more forgiving, and just explodes with flavor with even a less than stellar build, and the build quality is better than most of my high dollar authentics... so yea I really want an ESG now...

Oh and btw, what is the only rta possibly better than a skyline??? I bet you can guess at $400 and it's actually IN STOCK right now!!!yes, yes, moons, ravens, man someone let me borrow $400...

I have a coppervape skyline on the slow boat also. I was hoping the JFC of the merkava was like the skyline :(

I took it apart and reassembled thinking the chimney might have be misaligned or soething but it is still difficult to rotate so who knows. The strange thing is that the first time i built it, it was ok so something has changed. Hopefully someone else will chime in with their experience on a different unit!

The Raven's Moon is an incredible atty but a rather different beast to the skyline. Really built for full-on dual coil blow-fest. Fantastical flavour, dripper quality but for me, just too airy for a m2l and god know's i have tried! It's also only $300 US!! Lol!

I have no issue with my JFC on the Merkava. I actually prefer the friction style because I can use any drip I want instead of being stuck with a proprietary drip tip with tabs. That being said I'm not getting as good a vape as i hoped from it. I still need to test more with different builds but I was hoping it would blow me away right out of the gate. This is my first Merkava and I've nothing but good things about all the versions so it's probably just me.

idc personally but if classy sees she will probably ask you to move it to the... well, classy's. Sorry to hear about your situation.

The merkava thing, if it's anything like the Tilemahos it probably needs a drip tip with dual o-rings to get a good enough grip on it.

I think the problem with mine is that the top cap is not exactly aligned with the chimney so the top o-ring is grabbing intermittently as the thig spins round. A really tight fitting DT would do the trick but I dont have one atm.

@hobbes4, will be very interested to hear if you find a build that puts this one in that top range of flavor atties.

So far, this one is moving down my list based on the JFC and your input here. So really interested in your further findings.

My top cap fits quite loose over the chimney, I thought it would leak from not making a good enough seal around the chimney but so far no leaking issues whatsoever. It fits the tank section just fine.

I tested this further by removing the deck and leaving just the chimney and tank section upside down with juice in for a couple hours. No leaks so all is good but if I tear that oring even the slightest I think it would leak. No biggie, I'm assuming it's a standard available size I can get form anywhere.
