No problem! Just glad i could help, wish i could help more to get rid of that metal taste for you. I personally know how annoying that is. The Hobo is basically all i use now exclusively, i did make a purchase for the new Derringer atty by praxis vapors. I couldnt help myself, plus ive been eyeing it for a while since they announced it, im interested to see how it compares to my Hobos. Hopefully i wont hate it lol.
Yeah, I've been eying the Marquis myself but it's just too expensive.

Just got a hobo and heres the build I did! IMG_0244.jpg I'm dripping Strawberry Cheesecake! This is my second RDA and I like it the only problem I have is that the juice is coming up to the drip tip...and getting juice on my lips. But other than that Im obsessed with the look on my SMPL mod!

I think it's the flip side of the RDA being so small. The air really rushes through it when you inhale fast. I find it's better if you give it a little time for the juice to sluice down the coil/wick or if you use the drip cap.

Same here. Matter of fact, it is still up on my computer here at work. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I pull the trigger though.
I guess ill be the 3rd person to admit to wanting the marquis lol if it wasnt for the price i would jump on it. I know to some people it might not be a lot but some of the cheaper vape gear has spoiled me.

I see Rip Tripper put the Hobo number 3 in is top RDA's for the year. Has the Marquis and Vertex above it. Seems like he has the Hobo as his favorite to use nickel coil on a DNA40. Funny, I thought when he reviewed the Hobo, he put the Veritas and Plume Veil above it. Guess he changed his mind.

I've noticed that as time goes on, your opinions on something change. For the longest time, my tobh was the best atty ever, then my stillare, then my mutation x v1, then my cigreen x, now my hobo, but now I'm still looking for more lol. And i've only been vaping for 9 months.

That is strange because you recollect correctly about the ranking in his Hobo review. he might have done the Hobo review before he had the Marquis and Vertex but then the Hobo would be down at number 5.

Whats strange is how the vertex v2 is his number 1 yet it seems so simple of a design for an rda. In my opinion thats crazy, you have all these companies pushing the limits in some cases for lack of a better saying, and here comes this vertex that just seems, i dont know, plain? Id like to try one, to see how it is.

I'm guessing it has more to do with how new gear is. Without a continuous stream of new "hotter" gear for him to educate you on, why watch his channel? It's one of those uncomfortable truths about reviewers in all fields. If they don't puff up the next big thing, they are obsolete themselves.
Id have to agree here, i find myself constantly compelled to buy new stuff every time i watch a review or see something cool on instagram or facebook. But i have to talk myself into doing more research before i pull the trigger. Cause like you said, its always something newer and hotter. I slowed my buying down a lot lately, now when i buy something i do my research. That's 1 thing i try to tell new people, do your research, itll save you money, time, and possibly a hospital visit.

I'm very happy with my Hobos. No, they're not perfect but they do a very, very good job. Enough so that I haven't bothered to build the Plume Veils or Veritas I have sitting here. Guess that'll be my New Year's resolution. To build all the RDAs I have sitting around. Except I keep running CoOps instead! :D

Dont get me wrong, im a loyal buyer of the hobo, i use my 2 daily, out of 3 if that tells you something lol. But ill admit to cheating now since i bought a Derringer atty which is completely different and im also happy with. I dont think ill ever part with my hobos.

A place some call paradise
So I've got a authentic hobo v2 with the stainless center post. I've heard everyone raving about this rda and how much they love it. I just can't seem to get mine to produce the flavor that people are gettin out of it. I've got it up for sale but not getting many bites on it so I'm gonna try to love it.
So here my setup:
I'm using a ranger (50 watt vv box with a 10amp limit) so I want my build to be above .45. I vape at 40 watts. I have 26, 27, 28 and 30 ga kanthal and kgd cotton. What should I build and how can I get the best flavor with this thing?

I am running single coil 24g at .75 ohm on my IPV3 around 30 watts. I use Koh gen do wick that I run one side over the top to the other side of the deck. It will pull the juice over to the coil so that you juice from both sides. Awesome flavor. This coming from someone that used only a Magma for months because of flavor.

Go Steelers! :D

I was a serious fan of the magma until I moved to 40 watts. For me the magma couldn't keep up with air for that many watts.
I don't have any 24 gauge unfortunately.
