Sorry to hear that mongo. I also have a dud blue wrecker from vaporcube. I opened a support ticket the day I received it. Vaporcube responded 10 days later to say I needed to follow the hohmtech warranty process (which involves paying them $8 AND shipping it back to vaporcube on my dime). So I responded to their message, politely inquiring about a replacement as the one they sent was doa. I just looked and now see they have deleted my support ticket. I will begin the credit card dispute process today.

Something tells me they will become a lot more helpful then.

I just got a hohm wrecker in dodger blue thanks for g2flashx1, but I think I received a dud.

It turns on fine with the menu button, but after that, the menu button becomes a second fire button! The only way to turn it off or access the menu is to lock the buttons first! LOL, Vaporcube isn't responding to my messages, wonder if I have to contact Hohm Tech directly.

Firmware update did not fix the issue. Puzzling.

You should contact Hohmtech directly. They are more likely to respond sooner since this is a safety issue.

I feel your pain bro not with the hohm wrecker in particular but last year I had bought an xcube 2 and within a week after putting batteries in the unit the mod shorted out basically cooking itself internally. Was stressin out like crazy having a dead mod only being able to use it a few days.

Luckily VapeNW gave me a full refund. I really love VapeNW. With my refund I was able to buy another Xcube 2 that still works flawlessly to this day. If not for me recently buying this hohm wrecker I would of gotten an Xcube Ultra or a Reauleaux 200S instead from VapeNW.

I like the G2 though I think it has crazy potential but there is definitely some growing pains getting used to the wrecker. Several days ago I was having issues with 316L and Nife52 coils with the wrecker. Believe I had a wicking issue with these coils but not 100% sure cause havent rewicked yet and fully examined the coils. Think my tails of the wicks were too fat and too long causing some airflow issues.

When I got my G2 I jumped out the gate going too fast I think. Built 5 sets of coils on 5 Aromamizers and think I overextended myself and as a result I got sloppy on some wicking. For know im just doing Kanthal though...

One more thing an observation I had is that the hohm wrecker seems to read the ohms a little higher than my other mods. Take a dual coil (3 mm) 7 wraps of 24G Kanthal for example. On my Xcube 2 the resistance reads 0.31, on my Eleaf Istick 60w it reads 0.33 and on my G2 it reads 0.37 ohm. Now I dont know if this is a good thing or bad but it concerns me.

For anyone that got a defective Hohm tech product give them a call and demand they make it right. They sometimes need a little push but they have always made it right in the past. If that doesn't work then open up a dispute with paypal or your credit card company.

I have 4 G2's and 5 Slice, only 1 did I have a problem with and they made it right. That said if they they do not respond to your troubles then I would not hesitate to go to the extra step. From my experience Hohm tech has treated me right and a bunch of others I know, if that has changed then stick up for yourselves.

Keep one thing in mind though, the G2 was originally much more expensive then the close out price it is now. The CNC aluminum enclosure alone is worth the price you paid. That still doesn't excuse getting a doa mod though and you have every excuse to get it replaced without any additional cost to you.

It is a bad time in vaping right now for US companies, try and give them a little slack, make it easy for them to do the right thing for you.

Well, I got both of my Hohm Slice's today. I installed my MNKE 26650 battery, put on a COLD Lemo with a used 6/5 wrap of NiCr @ 1.10Ω w/KGD wicking, set mode to xXx, FSK to 3.2 (I think that that was also the default), adjusted temp to 470° and watts to 15. This thing vapes just like when on my Presa TC 100W @ 16 watts and .98Ω (same coil), except more vapor from the Slice (I had previously cleaned my coil and rewicked before starting). Lovely, just Lovely.

I put that Slice down and grabbed the next one and set it up the same way, attached the same Lemo (after a 30 min. cool down) and Wa-La, another Lovely Vape.

SUCCESS !! :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

My first time in TC mode, of any kind, on any Mod !!:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Many Thanks to mjag, Tpat, and Nailz for all the questions answered. :thumb:

I think that the HohmTech Slice is a Fantastic Mod, for a first time TC user even. :headbang:

Now my sights are set on that G2 !! :)

I've got myself the Hohm slice and Wrecker G2 and I have to say that they are the best mods. For the price, I think they are an excellent buy and work so well. The build quality is excellent, the chip is fantastic and something about the chip makes it very efficient with power delivery and battery life. It's my favorite mod to date. You guys can never go wrong with either of these great mods.

I agree, there my favorite mods to use....maybe not to look at though....lol.

There are some hurdles to get past in it's operation when coming from other mods but once you have it figured out the performance is king. There are a lot of tanks I have that don't perform well on other mods but light up on the Hohm mods. I was using a beater Apache RTA on my old H-Priv in the garage, I don't mind if either fall or get scratched. Could not get it to perform well though so I had to grab a G2 and the tank lit up, much better.
