They work fine using them outside the tank after I take them out and fill them. I actually use a carto condom with the end cut off to seal the holes I punched. even the ones I fill before I put in the tank work fine until the initial filling runs out and they dont wick any juice from the tank

can you post a picture of your cartomizer that is not working. I would like to see the hole/holes

These are a couple of pics I just took with my phone. I know they are of poor quality and you may not be able to tell anything by looking at them. the one with the slit has another slit just like it on the other side of the carto. I'll see if I cant remember what I did with my actual camera and put up some better quality pics.

what size drill bit did you use for the one with the hole?

I see nothing that would keep the cartomizer from wicking as long as the hole is above the bottom seal.

I fill the tank.
let set uprite for awhile
gently blow thru the mouth piece.
clean the threads.
let it set for 5 more minutes to be sure it is through dripping out the bottom.

vape away.

if you suck on like you are trying to jump start a 18 wheeler by sucking on the exhust pipe you will get a mouth full oh juice.

From what I can see, the cartos look okay. I agree with Bill that if they wick of the tank, they should wick in the tank.

That one is actually punched with a nail. I let them sit for awhile but I've never gotten any juice dripping from the bottom. I know the hole is above the bottom seal I keep checking and rechecking wishing it was something obvious like that. the only way I've ever been able to get any juice in the carto from the tank is to plug the bottom of the carto with something like a toothpick or the end of a carto condom and suck until the poly is finally saturated. Even though it only vapes till whats in the carto is gone it doesn't seem to wick any from the tank by itself.

most of the time, when i fill a tank, i do not get any juice out the bottom.

another mystery of the boge cartomizer.

my only suggestion would be to try a different brand of cartomizer if you have one.

I havent folowed this thread close. are you using a real thick juice?

That actually is two different brand cartos one is boge the other is a smoketech dual coil. The juice I'm using is dekang dk-tab. I believe that their pg juice is either 80/20 pg to vg or 100% pg i cant remember offhand either way its pretty thin. You know at this point its almost the principle of the thing. I could just leave it alone and be satisfied with my bottom feed mods. But this just seems like it should be so amazingly easy that i cant give up till I get the friggin thing to work

I agree, don't give up because they do work. Like you said something is not right, Maybe try to make the hole bigger, or the slot wider. Can you see thru the hole/slot and see the filler material??

and one #41 in mine just above the seal
Thanks BILL, I tried that with a hand drill and the steel carto's are tough so when I put alot of pressure on the drill it breaks thur and I'm afraid Ill damage or bend something inside, so I used an old Ice Pick and hammer and I can control it better and if I want the hole bigger around I just tap it a little more. Seems to work for me. I do put the carto on some thin foam so it doesn't roll on me and use a center punch to mark the spot I want to punch. I guess if I didn't have a center punch I could use a nail to make a little dent in it before I used the Ice Pick, it helps to keep the Ice Pick where you want it.

WOW, tough to follow a couple of interesting situations here.

First, the BILLB OKC non-wicking issue really has me puzzled as I have NO issues with wicking (see below) even with chain vaping.

The other thing that's bothering me is the 'vacuum' topic. Where and how da hell do ya get a vacuum to prevent wicking? Is this with a particular carto? I've had NO wicking issues with the CCV LR DCs... If there's a path for suction (draw with vapor), then there's a path for pressure equilibrium... Am I missing sumpin' here?

Now filling without leaking is a diff creature, which can be solved as described earlier.

well I think I found the issue. After reading in this thread and others that some people were having wicking issues some newer boge cartomizers I thought that that could be the issue. But wait I had also tried a brand new dual coil. Well after .....ing about this to my GF she told me that the dc I used wasn't new at all. Since she thought i was destroying cartos by punching and cutting them she had handed me a very well used dc so that I wouldn't "tear up" anymore good cartos. well after hearing this I went and got an actual brand new dual coil and I'm happy to report that that its working wonderfully. I actually got a bit of flooding with two holes. So I cut a bit of carto condom in such a way that it would cover one hole while leaving the other open and now its perfect. Still don't know what is up with the boges but oh well.
